Job Vent

Job Vent

Guys, I need to have a venting session...

As some of you know, I was laid off last July. The job I was laid off from was a wonderful job and I was so sad and depressed that they let me go. I was unemployed for 6 months and finally, I had some hope and bam, I had interviews here and there.

I landed a temp job with a well known company. I temped there for one week and then they offerred me perm position. I accepted. I didn't want to be foolish because of the economy and such.

Well, this was all in January. Now we are in April and I hate this place.

Today, I wanted to either snap and curse these people out or cry. I had the worst day. I worked so hard and do everyday and feel like it is not good enough. They expect you to be ON time which is fine. If you arrive ONE minute late, you are written up. They count how many times you go to the bathroom. You can't eat at your desk. It's like a fricken prison. At this point, I wished I turned down this peice of shitttt job. I would have been waiting for something better while collecting unemployment.

I am doing such crap BS work. Stuff I did 7 years ago when I started in the industry. I don't think there is room for growth here. I was a site manager and now I process 50 applications a day. I HATE it.

I am lost. I don't know what to do. Overall, the company itself is a good company that doesn't lay off people and are is economically strong. However, I think I may end up losing my cool if it doesn't get better.

*sigh*

Thanks for listening. I know this was long...

Already sent my resume out...

I feel like I am doing something wrong by interviewing again. Plus, I really don't have much hope at this point. I really don't think I will ever land a great job that was like my previous job.

I'm so sorry you're at a job you hate, I know the feeling all too well. I hope your situation changes soon so you can be somewhere you are happy. In the mean time just try and remember that while it is a large portion of your life it isn't your whole life and focus on all the aspects of your life that you are happy in.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this, believe me I know how you feel...to a degree at least. It really s/ucks to feel trapped and under-appreciated.

I feel for you!

First of all, keep sending your resume out. It might take another 6 months (hopefully less!) to land something, but you'll at least feel like you're working towards something better. Just keep going into your job and collecting your paychecks - and remember that at least you're getting paid.

You're right - you may never fid a job as great as your previous job but that doesn't mean you won't find something really good! At the least, you will be happier than where you are now.

Just keep your head focused on the future and keep building your resume. It's much easier to find a new job while you're still employed, rather than having to explain why you're not working.
