Been pretty busy, as usual. As if I wasn`t tired enough from the two job thing, I got put back up to five nights a week instead of four, so I`m pretty depressed over that .. and tired beyond belief. I know I shouldn`t complain, but it`s what I do best! ;) Hopefully it`s only for a short time.
After being in our house for over 2 years, we finally have furniture coming for the living room and dining room! `Bout time, huh?! Our poor little cat isn`t going to have a big, wide-open playground anymore!
Other than that .. lots of little headaches along the way.
So tell me about the house! When will you be closing? How`s everything else? Did you get to Mohonk?

Hi Junebride!!
Congrats to you for finding your home in RVC! Ours is a mint 4BR, 2 bath cape w/ EIK, FDR, full basement (1/2 finished)and 1.5 car att gar in Seaford. It has everything that was on our *must have* list and most of our *would like to have* list. LOL
I know exactly how you feel about overbidding - we did w/ ours. Frankly, I couldn't stand the thought of looking for another 4 months (or another week, for that matter). We really are excited and feel that for what we've seen, this house was our best bet. The biggest drawback is that we may not be able to close until November since the sellers need to find another house. UGH!
I saw over 60 houses. I know you were looking forever, too. What a relief!!
Now the fun begins!
Good luck!

Kathi, your right...
Now instead of looking for a home today I am on my way out to go on the hunt for furniture!
Your home is Seaford sounds really lovely.
I wish we had more of our must have -
We found houses that did have them but then there was always some other issue. We really wanted a Tudor with a slate roof - however, each time we found one it was always something.
I hope we're not setteling, I guess we gave up the tudor for location.
Did you get a big kithen? That's one of this homes biggest drawbacks - it's kind of small and really needs to be remodled. Is your home updated? The sellers think there's is - however, the last time they updated was around 1980. The stove and diswasher looks like it's on it's last breath - they showed them to us like they were brand new.
We're with you on the not moving in until Aug. or Sept. they are having a new home built - so it probably could be longer.
Kathi, now we both have to pray that morgage rates stay where they are. We are very worried about that. See, if they go up we really wouldn't be able to afford this home. We really stretched our selves very thin.
Good Luck!

Junebride...
Our kitchen is too small, for what I wanted, anyway. But it's still an EIK and I have the separate FDR which was really important since I have a big family! The house is in mint condition. We're going to paint and pull up the (ugly) carpet in the living/diningroom/stairs and sand and polish the floors. That's the only thing we need to do to move in.
We will need a new roof in about 3 years as well as a new deck. They're both 20+ years old but very well maintained.
Don't remind me about the interest rates! I watch them every day. They've been hovering around 7% for a couple of weeks now. We're really hoping that the sellers do what they're supposed to be doing and find a house QUICKLY!! Common sense says they'll be watching the rates, too!!
Now we just sit and wait. And shop for ideas!! LOL
