Just a reflection

Just a reflection

So I'm bored today and I am thinking of all the things that I thought would be angst-ridden and difficult in getting married and how it turned out not to be the case...

For example, (Goldi and Kissy will remember this) I was so upset at giving up my last name and taking on my husband's. Currently at work, they still refer to me as my maiden, but I know I'll have some adjustment at a new workplace in the future.

But I was in class last night and the professor went around the room doing attendance and I jumped at my last name being called (the new one) because it's sooner in the alhpabet than my old one. So I told him it was new, and that's why I yelped!

But back to my point, changing my name hasn't really been as emotionally difficult as I thought. I wasted so much energy on it.

Another example, I feared that there would be too many guests at our wedding but it ended up that we were about 30 below our original guess... It all worked out in the end...and to think of all that stress I put on myself.

Anyone else go through things similar to that? It makes me think twice now that I get upset about something...I say, Will I really care about that 4 months from now? Will it really be THAT bad?

Ok, I need to get a hobby!

Lisa I thought of you today when I finally saw my time card in another location. I went from C to S and it was rather exciting in a dopey way. I am married 3 and a half months already and my new last name has only beedn used twice on our PA system, but it is nice to hear!

Lisa, I told you back then that once your name was changed & all the 'little' things that seemed big at that point, would not matter later on!!! It is amazing how much things change after you are married!

In my life, I never really sweated things throughout the wedding process as I wanted to be calm as could be.

The weather was something I really didn't want to get worked up about because I knew I could not control it! With saying that, I religiously checked the weather everyday for the 10 days leading to the wedding. If I saw 'rain' in the forecast, I got down inside! Just as Lisa & I said yesterday, Rain is no longer a 'bad' thing as you don't have to worry about the wedding. I actually pray for rain on the weekends so I can get some house work done!

I think my biggest thing that I got anxiety about was adjusting to my new life...I was excited but also so scared of all the changes! After 2 months of marriage, I can honestly say, the transition has been relatively easy. We have had our 'ups & downs' since being married but that is what 'Real' life is about!!!
