Just donated my ponytail to Locks of Love!!

I feel so nekkid now!!! I keep reaching for my hair and there's nothing there!!

What a great thing to do.

Wish I could, but I color my hair with permanent color and they won't accept that.
I am working up the nerve to cut my hair. Two more weeks until my next color appointment - I'll do it then.

They do accept hair w/ permanent color, they don't accept hair that's been double processed or 'high- lighted'

I originally looked into Beautiful lengths by pantene, pretty much the same cause but they make wigs for women w/ cancer. They guidelines are stricter than Locks of Love.

Sylvie - thanks for the update.
I've got about 8 or 9 inches to cut off, and my hair is pretty healthy. Just need the permanent color to keep those pesky grays away.

Just read on Locks of Love that the minimum donation is 10 inches of hair.
If I chicken out on the cut this time, then by early summer I should have the required length.

Beautiful Lengths by Pantene takes hair that is 8 inches in length, but it cannot be colored with permanent color or be more than 5%gray. I am 40% gray without the color.

That's so great of you! I wanted to do it, but I have permanent color AND highlights, so they won't take it.

YIPPEE ! Great to hear!

I'm currently growing out my hair so I too can donate . It's currently falls a little longer than 1/2 way down my back. I have naturally curly hair so I'm going to have to let it grow at least till the end of March.
