And I have to say that I'm not really impressed or excited about them. They are ok. That's about it. I'm just glad they were cheap. She is sending me the negatives and the disc. I hope I can do something with them myself to make them look better.
Sorry - just had to express my sadness... nothing has gone right lately.

I don't know if it will make you feel any better, but I wasn't super thrilled with my photos initially. the further away the wedding gets, the more I like them. I think I kept looking at so many other photos online and was a little jealous of some of the other brides' photos. but now, as I am approaching my 1 year anniversary, they have really grown on me more and they make me think of that wonderful day with DH. I don't nitpick the things I don't like about them so much now.

Well, the proofs weren't thrilling me either and was hoping the enlargements would be a better quality, but they are very washed out. Yes, I still love looking at them, but I just wasn't overjoyed. You are right tho - some of these girls who had the great and much more expensive companies have incredible photos.
Ah well.... next time

how did you deal with your MIL in terms of making albums? did you make an album for her? or let her pick otu her own pictures? help. i wish my photographer could put my photos on a disc and send it directly to my MIL so i could stay out of it!

When I received my proofs, I brought them right over and had her pick what she wanted. She's picky and picked some odd pics, that I woud have never thought she would want. I made her do it right away because I wanted to get the order in before we moved - which was only a couple weeks.

when I met with my photographer...she said that the strangest pics picked r usually by the grooms mom. I laughed when she picked her pics...they SOOOOO DO NOT capture our wedding. she pulled 24 pics of her friends. Not that I am biiter about this, okay I am, but she left out her own mother son dance for her friends. I know u cant choose what other people like but I just gave up and let her pick whatever she wanted. Its her books. The photographer and I had a good laughing time! Sorry to hear about your pics. Sometimes the guests take better pics then the photographers. Ask around. Maybe some people could give u some. My photographer was great but those stupid wedding channel cams were too dark.

I forgot to say this. Some of my favorite photos were from DH's cousin and my sister - they were just using regular 35mm point and shoots, but they seemed to capture a lot of great moments - DH's cousin is a mother of 6, I think she's had LOTS of practice with that camera

I am very NOT thrilled with my proofs and I am sure I will feel this way about the rest. BUT I love the pics my sister's boyfriend took with his pro camera. I just wish my best friend's boyfriend had done the same- he forgot his and he does it for a living!!!

Yes, our friends had some increidle shots, so I'm very glad. I have more pics then I know what to do with... but the 'pro' shots are supposed to be the real keepers... oh well
