Wow - I missed the original drama so am totally lost as to what this actually means but can tell that it s*cks. . .that's a PITA - hopefully they don't have a leg to stand on and will just waste their time and $ in court

I would also get a restraining order again both of them and have FILs daughter on the restraining order saying he's afraid they might hurt him too. Can't he go to family court and say he fears for his childs safety?

I'm def gonna pray everyday for Laura, No child should be around people like that.

As long as he has to get a lawyer he should use this chance to fight a custody battle. Laura should not be around that and he should do everything in his power to block that woman from her life. It might upset Laura at first (though from what you said on Christmas it might not) but even if it does its for her own safety.

They don't have a leg to stand on if they are suing him.

I think they were arrested that is why they are prob pissed off and want to sue! just ***** cuz his father doesnt have a lot of money and now he needs to find a lawyer and all that!

When he beats their butts in court- i would sue them for his lawyers fees! AND- use this as LEVERAGE to win back more rights to his daughter. It's DISGUSTING the type of people her so called 'mother' surrounds her child with.. Your FIL should make it a point to bring this up during his case! The bright side is- your FIL has to be patient a few more years till the little one is legal and can kick her own mother to the curb!

Was your FIL served yet? I'd be very curious what scummy firm would take such a frivolous case...

At my old firm, we used to get referrals from Willens & Baker -- they're the ones whose ads you see on the subway for '1-800-BANKRUPT' etc... I'd go downstairs for an intake and the stories people had were out of control.

It's a pain in the arse but it'll get thrown out eventually, I imagine. I can't even believe anyone would spend the money to get the case started with such facts! Inane!

... The truth will come to light and things will work out in your favor..

Im sure i will be there for the whole thing, cuz i was a witness, i am totally going to add how the daughter came into the house without permission and took laura against her will (what do they call that?) itsnot breaking and entering right cuz they didnt break in, but you cant just go into somones house like that right? or am i making this up?

it was pretty much me, chris, laura
there was a neighbor who was in their car, trying to get by that witnessed the whole thing cuz their car was blocking him.

ok so i made the mistake about telling my mom about this whole thing, i gave a brief idea about what happenend on christmas eve, but i didnt make it known that i did infront of chris, cuz i dont think he wanted to talk about it really!

so i told her today and she is like all worried!! (she worrys WAYYYYY to much)
i mean yeah im worried but in the end i know what happend and there is no way they can side with them!!

but then after my mom called me about 400 times asking questions that i dont know the answers to, she goes Do you think think it will have any effect on the house we are in the process of buying??!

i dont think so right??! lord i hope not cuz i will freaking assault them myself if this screws us up with getting our house!

I'm so sorry to hear about this.

I know you're concerned and stressed out about it, but to offer my (unsolicited) 2 cents, try not to post much about the details of the incident. This is a public forum and the other parties or their lawyers could see what you type and try to misconstrue it against you. Let your own lawyers fight this out in court.
