Kathi--Furniture question

We looked at the Stanley translations last year--still have not decided on a se--ordered it at huffman koos and are not looking to cancel--so that we can buy it direct--did you end up getting stanley? if so where did you get it

We haven't ordered our set yet since we close in mid-November but we plan to order it soon.

We got a pretty good price from the NC Furniture Showroom in Manhattan and I got an even better price from a furniture place in Lexington, KY. My guy in NYC told me to 'shop around' and give him a shot at beating it, which I'll do!! I haven't checked other places since I've been busy, but I definitely want to get 2 or 3 other quotes. This is a big investment!!

Did you say you ordered it already from HK? I never looked there because I thought they couldn't give us as good a deal as the showroom. You'd do even better there since you live in NJ and don't pay tax!!

I left the price quotes at my office but, if you want, I'll let you know what I was quoted. Let me know what pieces you're interested in.

my friend found a beautiful furniture set, they got the name of the manufacturer, searched the internet and found the same set in some other state much cheaper. Even with delivery charges they saved like $800!

We cancelled the order at HK-- they then called back adn took an additional $950 off the price but it was still higher than I had been quoted
We are looking for
King Bed
Tall drawer dresser
Tall nightstand(one)
Verticak imrror with scrollwork
Door chest
and from teh quotes I am getting it is around $4000 with shipping whereas HK was over $5-- that was with their 15% Sale--if not it was closer to $6

Your quotes of $4K sound good - mine are about the same. Here are the prices I was quoted from the NC Furniture showroom in Manhattan & the Lexington, Ky place (online):

We're getting the same pieces!! I love the tall dresser and mirror!!

Queen bed (don't have King price) - $890, $793
Tall Night stand - $375, $336 (I'm getting 2)
Tall Dresser - $890, $806
Mirror - $295, $265
Door chest - $980, $885

The king price is probably about $100 more. The showroom told me del'y is about 8% of the total sales price (lucky you don't have to pay tax! ). I don't have an exact shipping amt. for the online place since I didn't know for sure what pieces we could fit in our bedroom at the time I called for a quote. Del'y should be around $650, though!

Where did you get your quotes from? I haven't had a chance to call anywhere else yet.

We just had some major issues with Huffman Koos, and let me just say, I'm glad to hear you canceled your order with them. Could you please email me??

It bugs me that they were willing to knock off so much money to get a sale, yet they weren't anywhere near as generous in trying to make amends for the hassle they put us through for five months and counting.

Out of curiosity, what are the dimensions of the bedroom?? I'm starting to think that we may not have a lot of 'moving around' room since this is fairly big furniture!
