Kind of personal question

Okay, I've been putting off bringing this up forever, but with Valentines Day coming up....its only proper.

I used to have a much higher sex drive. But lately (especially since we moved to GA) I have no sex drive. Like none. Or it seems like I only want it when he's not around...We rarely have sex and I know he wants it more, but he wont approach me because he says he knows I dont want it. Is there anything I can do to increase my sex drive??? I want to do something special for him for Valentines Day, but I cant think of anything. Gimme ideas ladies...pleeeeeease.

Usuually sleep helps-are you sad about the move to GA? Proper diet is important, sleep. You can try some of the 'aphrodisiac foods' out there. I know there is a whole cookbook out there-we ahve it lol. SIL gave it to us. The honey salmon is easy and delicious.

Maybe work yourself up BEFORE you see him, be it mentally or ahem... that way you can just jump him-he would like that.

I can recommend the following to get you in the mood:

Realize that you are sexy
Think of DH naked
Have some wine
Have some chocolate
Put on Sexy Lingerie

the rest should come naturally.

I've been sleeping way more than a normal person needs to, so its def not sleep.
I'm no longer sad about being in GA -- I've been pretty happy here lately. And I eat pretty well.

I definately will grab that cookbook though -- that sounds great!

Did you switch to a new BC pill? Some can definitely zap your sex drive.
When I'm not in the mood, it's usually b/c I'm exhausted. But I find when I push myself, I'll end up getting into it. I definitely find the more you have it, the more you want it.

when I switched BC pills it completely changed my sex drive -- but I definitely agree the more you have it the more you want it

get DRUNK!!! for some reason if I go out w/ the girls and come home a little toasted I try to attack DH as he sleeps (which I generally don't remember the next day, but DH tells me ALLLLLL about it....he refers to it as 'the midnight rape' a la Wedding Crashers!

do you take birth control pills? I used to take something and apparently is very high dose for me because a month after i took it - I just lost any sex drive (talking about birth control). I told this to my GYN and she gave me a different brand(lower dose)

yea im on the pill. I switched to a new one a few months ago and that may be a big cause. I dont want to come off of it, but I had a MUCH better sex drive before I switched to this pill.

Maybe thats it - talk to your doctor again maybe she can switch you on something. In a meantime - I guess ummm eat a lot of oyster, chocolate and wine

Which pill are you taking?

Ortho Evra (patch) did that to me-low sex drive in adiition to being a wack job. I am on the NuvaRng and sooooo much more normal now.

I like the suggestion about a drink or two; always works for me. Pete calls wine 'Jenn's horny juice' lol so when he wants some he pours me a glass of wine and yells out my horny juice is on he table and I need to drink it up like a good girl.

Are you bored? I know I felt with DH that we were becoming mundane; on a schedule all the time now that we're married; no spontaneity. Maybe just go away for a da or two? Even overnight in a hotel might be exciting-new location and all of that or act like stupid kids and neck in the car-works for us. By the time you get home clothes ar e half off lol.

I would agree, it probably is the pill. I think my pill reduces my sex drive too, which stinks! I'm tempted to switch but I love this pill for so many other reasons.I'm also scared to switch- you never know how you're gonna react. It's not like I refuse sex THAT often...when he wants it I go for it, but more from an intimacy level rather than being horny ...other than that I can basically do without it if ya know what I mean.... Yasmin stinks in this regard!!!

Like Jenn said, spontaneity should help!! I'm trying to push DH in that direction but like I said, my drive isn't really there so that doesn't help!!

Yea I switched when i moved down here. That def could be it, but I have to be on this one. I guess i just need to push past it and make myself want it.

omg, dont worry then (or feel like you should switch pills at this point)...i was SO freaked out when i first got on BC (loestrin) last year bc my sex drive went byebyeeeeeeeeeee. i felt so bad but i had NO interest. i was so upset and then after a short while, it came back and better than ever. wait it out. until then, i love Ev's ideas for getting in the mood!

spontaneity is a big factor too.,..when its planned, for some reason its just not the same bc one of us is having to work into the mood instead of being in it already and acting on it in the moment.

how long have u actually been on ur bc pill??? from reading all these posts it's probably most definety that but i'm just curious how long u've been taking it??. like jess said, it usually regulates after a little while. i remember when i first stopped my first BCpill i was a complete headcase, but after a few months i went totally normal again. ur hormones just need to regulate & ur body has to adjust. other than that, have some chocolate & wine, and a sexy dinner seafood usually does the trick Also, get into a sexy set of lingerie BEFORE DH gets home(if he's going to be out for the day)...dim the lights, light candles & be waiting for him so he's suprised when he walks through the door - usually seeing DH turned on turns ME on. heck u might as well even cook in it and who says it has to be lingerie??? why not throw on one of DH's dress shirts & loose tie, & throw in a thong & a hot pair of highheels??? ...and after u've 'done the deed' ( ) make a bouble bath & ask DH to join u

I went on the pill before I was sexually active to help regulate my period. I never knew I had a sex drive until I came off of it!!! It actually took about 6 months of me being off the pill until I actually got a sex drive.

It's probably the pill if nothing else has changed and you have recently switched and you are happy overall!! I would talk to your DR. about possibly changing or maybe trying other emthods of birth control, if that is an option for you!
