I plan on making Ham and Potato soup it is sooo good. DH doesn't follow the who Lent and not eating meat thing but I do. However even though this soup has meat in it I don't eat Ham so I always pick it out anyway from the soup so I am still going to eat it.
Just don't what to make with it? Unless I just buy some Italian bread.

Low fat fettucini alfredo with shrimp and peas. Fridays are usually pizza night anyway, or if I feel like cooking I do pasta with seafood, something quick.
Since I do all the cooking, my Jewish husband has to follow my restrictions.

I'm fasting too...but you know as per Catholic law you technically can have 2 small meals that together do not equal 1 meal and then a full meal. I had a small piece of bread and hot chocolate...then I'm gonna try and hold off until dinner and only have liquids for the rest.

Re: ladies observing lent...share your MEAT FREE meal plans
not observing lent but here's a recipe we lovee.. tried and true..
1lb salmon, cut into small pieces 9-10 medium sized potatoes, quartered, boiled and peeled 1 carrot, finely chopped 1/2 red pepper, finely chopped 1 small onion, finely chopped 3-4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped 1 bay leaf 1+1 tblsp olive oil 3C +1/2 C milk Cheddar cheese 1 and 1/2 tblsp plain flour salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Mash the potatoes with the 1/2 C of milk and some cheese. Heat olive oil, add the onion, peas, carrot, garlic and red pepper, and cook for a minute. Spread them at the bottom of the pan and arrange the pieces of fish on top with the skin side down. Pour the milk. Add the bay leaf and season with salt and freshly ground pepper.Bring everything to a boil. reduce the heat and simmer Strain the milk in a bowl and save and throw out the bay leaf. Heat some more of the oil and add the flour. Stir constantly for a minute over medium heat and add the strained milk. Use a whisk and whisk continuously to prevent massive lumps. Bring to a boil. When it starts to thicken ( should take a few seconds), remove from heat and pass through a sieve into a bowl. Mix the sauce with rest of the cheese. Pre heat the oven, grease and fill the ramekins with fish and vegetables. Pour some sauce over and top with the mashed potatoes. Bake till it is bubbly and the top browns. Serve hot.

I'm not observing, but DH is so I'm making meals with him in mind.
Vegetable soup, pasta, grilled mahi mahi, shrimp skewers, grilled tuna, fish sticks (for me haha!). If we get take out it will be pizza or sushi. For lunch he's getting egg salad and tunafish sandwiches.

Re: ladies observing lent...share your MEAT FREE meal plans
Spinch and feta omlettes veggie burgers salads, pasta salads egg souffle chow mein (chinese take out) grilled veggies, veggie pizza spinach pies, egg rolls
I'm greek so for lent in our calendar, it's no meat or dairy (if you're super strict) but I skip the no dairy part. It just gets out of hand.
