Does anyone know where I can order contacts without having a prescription? My insurance is every other year. and this year I got glasses. I went to walmart and its $90 for the exam plus the contacts. Iam short on cash this month and dont have the money to go. Does anyone know where I can order them from online?? Thanks in Advance!

Did you try calling the last place that you had an eye exam? They might fill it for you.
Other than that, in my experiance, no one will give them to you without a recent prescription

I think 1800 contacts just has you fill in your prescription info (you can probably use your last one) However, I believe they check with your doc to make sure its correct.
Something along those lines. try it anyway

I used to use 1-800-Contacts but recently I've been turned down. You're going to have to get an exam. I think you can get the exam done at BJs or Costco.

They do. I put in my doc and they wouldn't fill it. There a little more strict now.

costco is the cheapest contact exam at 75 bucks
you have to have an annual eye exam for contacts because the potential for eye problems increases with contacts

Well do you think since i have insurance i could make an appointmet with an Opthamologist and get my prescription through them?? Then it would only cost me my co-payment??

1800 contacts checks with your doctor. I just had to refill my contacts order and it was held up a few days because the doctors office took some time verifying it.

You can go online an refill a prescription but it must be no more then 1yr old. Heres what I do. I have no insurance and buying contacts at your eye Dr. can be very $$$$$
I go have an eye exam...about 90 bucks then I go online and order the contacts. I use Acuvue 2 which offer a $30 rebate when you buy 1yrs worth of contacts..when you add the 1yr of contacts you then get free shipping plus an automatic discount for ordering 8 boxes THEN search online for a 10% off coupon. After everything you get each box of contacts for about $9 bucks...not to bad compared to what u pay at the eye Dr. Hope that helps! In fact, Im due for my next refill this year

You need to have a prescription less than a year old b/c the online companies verify it.
