Ladies..ever have an interview with....

Met Life Financial?

I have an interview tomorrow, and my Spidey Senses are up....I had put my resume up on Careerbuilder.com and within 90 minutes I had a woman call me up desperately trying to set up an interview for a Financial Analyst position.

I'm going tomorrow at 4 but I'm skeptical, just b/c she was very quick on the phone, and when I went online to research it, it seems like a marketing job....

Have any of you ladies been approached by something similar to this? Like do I have to pay to get certified, give them the names and numbers of my friends? Etc???

TIA!

They called me many times before. Lots of companies like this have. It's purely a commission based position.

My DH put in his resume to Met Life a while ago. It was for IT but they called him for this one (salary plus commission). The salary about a year ago was about 60K.

yeah I'm afraid it's going to be predominantly cold calling which I hate b/c you're ultimately bothering people and I feel so guilty LOL

when you get there if you see a TON of ppl then you'll know exactly what it is. Its commission only and they make you take classes and that sort of stuff. On monster and all those sites they warn about insurance companies and some real estate companies. I went to one not long ago, they completely lied in the ad on craigslist, i was so pissed off. It was at an office and was for a managers assistant, at least thats what it said. They called me, and only thing i can say is thank god it was right by my house or else i wouldve wasted money and travelled a while to get to i wouldve been more pissed. Even when one guy was about to walk out and asked what this position was about, the reception insisted it was for the managers assistant job. Of course i walk in and the first thing they ask is if i mind working on just commission. I got mad at the lady and said they shouldn't lie in their ads and waste anyones time, she said it just depends on how you interpret it it was such BS. I always watch out for these things and was so mad it happened to me.

Hopefully this isnt the situation. I was going to say that Met Life is a big company but if its Met life financial then that is a different name, i dont think the word financial is at the end of it.

Thanks Denise, this is what I was afraid of... I checked out the website and I did see Snoopy.... I saw on the webpage their staff...and they have like 25 Financial Analysts But it's just sounds soooooooooo fishy! My cousins BF works for them but in Garden City so he's gonna call me tomorrow morning to give me the 411...but I'm so tempted to just cancel the whole thing....

I just spoke to my cousin who works for this company in Garden City and it's straight commission after 19 weeks and $800 out of pocket expense for training and licensing.

Thank you ladies for all your input and help! I greatly appreciate it!

It's all good - I had that 'too good to be true' vibe anyway!

On to bigger and better things!
