Laid off ladies: getting in the job-hunting groove?
I have been out of work now for 4 days. I've looked for some jobs, contacted people I used to work with, applied for unemployment and done a few other things - really examined what I want to do ... but I kinda feel like I am on vacation. I feel like it's VERY hard to get into the groove. I hate job hunting and it's been forced on me - and it suuuucks. I know I have to really start searching, have someone examine my resume, read articles about interviewing, etc - but I just feel like I have so many OTHER things to do - laundry that's piled up, Christmas directions that need to come down, food shopping that always took place after work or on weekends, and some work-related things - or money related I should say - calling Fidelity and moving things around, shopping for cheaper car insurance, etc ....
For those of you who were laid off - did you go through this? How long did it last? I feel like the longer I wait for it to 'kick in,' the more opportunities I could miss ... but getting started is soooo hard!!!!
