So DH and I booked a summer getaway to Lake George. We're staying in Bolton Landing at the Sagamore. Looks amazing--booked a lodge rooms b/c main hotel was a little too pricey for us. Anyway, neither of us have been since we're kids, so we're kind of clueless about the area. Does anyone have any good restaurant recommendations?

Re: Lake George?
When are you going? My brother is there right now. I have gone a few times, but can't remember the name of the places we ate. I think one might be Phil's or Uncle Phil's. There is another great place my Bro always talks about. I will ask him when he gets back. Have a great time.

Thanks! We're not going until end-of-July. I'm just a plan-o-holic so trying to get an idea of where to go.

I use to go there every summer... Theres a place called Mammas Back Porch.. Its a really cute resturant.. You can drive into the village at night and just walk around theres tons of resturants in town to choose from.. Theres a resturant in town cakked Marios that is good. You should also check out the steamboat cruise's. I reccomend the Minne Ha Ha.. Its about an hour long and takes you up and down the lake, and give you a brief history.. Have fun!!!

H! 08 bride crashing. My parents have a house in Ticonderoga, Lake George!
You should go and visit Fort Ticonderoga. That's really fun. If you go and visit the outlets, my favorite restaurant to go to is the Log Jam http://www.logjamrestaurant.com/
Definitely do the high tea service at the Sagamore. Beautiful view from the room. Also, try and do a lake tour on the Minnehaha. It's a great way to see historic homes that cannot be viewed from the road!
A little insider knowledge, Rachael Ray used to work in the restaurant of the Sagamore hotel.
HTH and have fun!
