Late Intro

I have been on the boards for a while, but I don't think I ever introduced myself. The 07 Brides/Newleyweds have been so helpful to me. I think it is about time I introduce myself since I look forward to coming on here every day and everybody is so great!!!!!

.......... My name is Meredith. I am 31 years old and was married on Oct 21, 2007 at Jericho Terrace. I grew up on LI and after being discouraged by the lack of teaching jobs after graduation, I decided to pick up and move to Las Vegas where they were and still are in desperate need of teachers.

I taught ESL there for twter o years and within the first four months of being there met DH. This was after a ridiculous amount of finding the wrong guy throughout my life. Vegas was a great stepping stone for me, but after gettina engaged, DH and I wanted to move and be in a better place to start a family.

DH is a photojournalist and landed a TV job in the Chicagoland area. It is the #3 market for T.V. I also was able to get a job here so here I am.

Chicago is beautiful, but I am not a midwest girl and miss my friends and family on LI. DH and I are currently trying desperately to get back to LI. Actually he is from Wisconsin, but would love to go to NY and be in the #1 TV market and close to my family. He is amazing. Once I get back to NY, my life will be perfect. I already have my perfect man.

Hi Meredith! I'm Jess, its nice to *meet* you

I love the story of how you & your DH met, its incredible how we never really know how different life choices that we make will affect other parts of our life (like moving to LV for a job led you to meet your hubby).

I met my DH through friends ... these friends went to college together, and met b/c my best friend was the RA for DH's friend, and they stayed in touch after college. They decided to get together one night to celebrate someone's birthday ... my friend dragged me along, his friends dragged him along ... and there you have it! It wasn't a setup, which makes it even better IMO because there wasn't that weird 'blind date' sort of awkwardness ... and even funner because our friends were surprised we had an interest in one another.

We dated for over 5 years before getting engaged ... and we will celebrate our 7 year anniversary at the end of March. It took us some time to get down the aisle, but I am learning that patience is a virtue ... and everything happens when its meant to.

Hi Meredith. My name is Christy. I live in Woodstock, Georgia.

I lived all my life in florida. I was engaged to a guy in a violent realationship. He passed away so I moved to Georgia to start fresh. After a few years I started dated again and met the man of my dreams. He treats me like a princess. It moved quickly. We moved in together almost immediately and after a year bought a house. We were married Sept 2007 in a log cabin chapel in Tennessee. Now I am a housewife and DH is software developer who works from home.
And we are the proud parents of a 5 month old St. Bernard named Shelby.

Hey Meredith - I'm Taryn DH(josh) and i were married Dec. 1st of '06 (so we just had our first anniversary )...we also got married at Jericho Terrace Wasn't it beautiful?? Anyways, I'm 22 & DH is 25... I'm an actress & also a makeup artist..and Josh started up his own company last year doing international & commercial/industrial finance(fancy way of saying he finds funding for big projects lol). We both grew up on Long Island...I met him just before my senior year of highschool through a mutual friend after a whole slew of heartache. I SOO did not want another guy in my life, but josh showed up & well...the rest is history i guess All together we've been a couple for 6years come june..and now we're heading towards 2years of being very happily married We moved to Forest Hills (queens) once we got married....i LOVE it here..it's just the cutest little neighborhood I loved reading ur story - its so crazy how fate works! i am 27-just had a birthday woo hoo. i work in reception though i am working towards my teachign certification though what i really woant to be is a wrietr and graphic designer-all sorts of confused.

pete is a former mechanic turned trucker who wnats to return to mechanics. he is a jersey boy-i am a former ny now turned jersey girl. We met on match.com 5 years ago and been together since.

we moved to parsippany (nj) once we got married....i like it here though miss ny sometimes and those freedoms. no lisence yet but working on it.

I am Charlotte and my DH is Michael. We knew of each other after I graduated from high school (Michael was still in high school) I graduated in 1992 and he graduated in 1994. We bumped into each other in September 2004 at a supermarket. His mom knew me because I worked at Chuck E. Cheese's at that time and she would bring her grandchildren there. She did not know Michael and I knew each other until that moment. The next time we saw each other is at Chuck E. Cheese's. Michael and I exchange numbers. He finally called me and said Charlotte come on a go a date with me. So, I said ok. We started dating on October 2, 2004. When I got home; I told my mom this is the man that I am going to be with for the rest of my life. 3 months and 1 week later he proposed to me and we became engaged. September 29, 2007 we got married and it was so beautiful. It was everything we wanted and more. I am a dance teacher in East Northport and Michael is an interior cleaner for MTA Bus in Flushing. We reside in Patchogue.
I am 33 years old and Michael is 31 years old.

My name is Marie, I'm 27 and my husband Brian is 35. We met skydiving in the summer of 2001!! I'm in a similar situation as you, can't find a teaching job on LI! I lived in NC for 2 years where I got a teaching job with NO problems at all! Just moved back to LI this past June after quitting my job to be with DH BUT he has now decided that he wants to move back to NC!! So we will actually be moving all our stuff in 2 weeks, even though we will not be there till the summer. Hopefully I can find another teaching job just as easily!!!

I'm Devon & DH is Matt. I'm 26 and he's 29. I work for a marketing research company in their creative deparment as a production manager & DH is software test engineer Manager for Microsoft. We met through my sister about 4 years ago. (he lived with a Guy named Guy who I graduated HS with who was really good friends with my sister) I had just graduated college and was so not interested in starting up a relationship with anyone b/c I had to figure my life out first. I had gone out one night to a bar in smithtown b/c at the time I was doing radio promotion gigs (worst!!) and I happen to run into him and didn't give him the time of day....(so rude of me!)....but after my sister NAGGING me and nagging me....he came to my graduation party over the summer a few weeks after the rnun in and two of my friends also nagged me to just go on one date so I said FINE ( to basically shut everyone up).....we had our first date in July of 03' and have been happily together ever since. He proposed December 16, 2005 and our wedding was June 9, 2007...the best day of my life!!!! We bought a house in Huntington in Oct. of 06' and are now finally living in it!
