I noticed you said last year you and your husband got a telescope for your backyard. Which one did you get, and where did you go for it? Do you recall about how much it was? Are you happy with it? Do you have any suggestions or tips for me? I know they can be very pricey, so I`d like to make sure I`m investing good money on a quality product. Thanks!!
Hi Kel, I actually ended up ordering it online from a company in California -- they were great as far as cusomer service goes. But you can get the same stuff at the Discovery Store or Amazon or a number of other places in person. I bought a Meade brand and I think it was the DS-90. It was not digital, but comes with this awesome tool called AutoStar - you set it up once with your location and from then on you just tell it what you want to see and it finds it for you. It is an awesome telescope. I can't remember now but it was definitely in the over $600 but less than $1000 range. If you search on Amazon you can also get reviews on different ones. I did some research and really felt that Meade was the best brand. Check the Discovery Store if you want to see them in person..Hubby loves it. I got him all kinds of books and computer programs and stuff to go with it. It was a great gift for the money and we'll enjoy it for many years to come!
