Let's share our best healthy snacks!

I am sure I am not the only one who wants to eat healthier and LESS in 2009. Anyone have anything they snack on that curbs appetite and makes them feel good???

I try to eat a yogurt every day, around 10:30, in between breakfast and lunch. I think it definitely stops me from reaching for a cookie! I loooove yoplait light in very cherry flavor. A lot of the other ones taste like nutrisweet to me .. but this one is very flavorful and not saccarine-y at all!

Not so healthy, but a good cup of coffee seems to quell my appetite. Just plain brewed half caff with a touch of milk. No sugar, no artificial sweetners.

Oh, and I do keep a small basket of fruit on my desk to keep me from wandering downstairs to the vending machines, and to eat as dessert with my lunch.

i just started eating whole grain roasted garlic melba toast and it's really good. it's like 60 calories for 4. it really helps hold me over from breakfast to lunch.

i also love string cheese. the new WW is good, and is slightly less calories & fat than the kraft one. i need calcium since i don't drink milk, so that's how i get it.

LOVE fage yogurt - it's so creamy. I get the plain, zero fat one and put honey in it; not too much but i find it helps a lot. I also eat cereal with it, like fiber one or kashi go lean and a little honey. the honey helps and its better to add it yourself than buy the one the sell with honey (that DH loves, but has more fat/calories)

I find that string cheese makes me want MORE. I loooooove cheese -- and a lot of the time, having a little makes me want more. If I bring a few slices of cheddar (from a block) to work with an apple, I'm ok - but at home - I can't stop myself.

To respond to a few other girls -- 100 calorie packs are the same as cheese with me but worse because I do not find them filling. I can eat 3 and still want more. I am trying to get away from chips, processed foods because I think that's where the problem is for me - I don't eat chips often but when I do, I cannot stop.

i completely agree- the 100 calorie packs are bad news for me- I eat the whole carton & they turn out being 600 calorie packs for me

I just don't think they are filling enough. I just ate an apple - that's filling to me. I should start getting more veggies to eat during the day too - celery, carrots, etc. I used to buy this stuff but got in a rut. And my jaws hurt from eating the carrots! I need to only bring SOME baby carrots to work too, in a baggie or something - otherwise I eat too many baby carrots. Not terribly bad for you, but I had a friend who ate too many and she really did have an orange tint to her. She also drank lots of carrot juice, etc.
