Let's Talk babies and Baby Doctors

So I just got married and I just turned 30. Someone told me that it is harder to get pregnant after 35 and not recommended.

Talk about scare the crap out of me. You mean I only have 5 years???????????????

Who knows if we will get pregnant right away when we start trying.

We are so not financially ready for a child. Is this true??? Anyone else scared about this??

On a side note...can anyone recommend a good OB/GYN in Queens, Floral Park or New Hyde Park???

Thanks

my Ob/Gyn is fantastic. (its a group of doctors and mid wives) I went to them for the birth of my son...

My brother (of all people) was talking to me about that last night!

I go to Jessica Jacob in Lake Success--she's right on NHP Road.

as far as whether its harder to get pregnant, I think it probably depends more on your own body and your family history (my mom had me at 36, and I don't think they really were trying at that point!!).

LOVE my ob/gyn- there's 2 female doctors in the office: Dr. Henrietta Wallace & Dr. Stern

You don't only have 5 years. My mom was 37 when she had me -- my cousin just had an uneventful pregnancy and her first baby at 41.

The risk may increase, but that doesn't mean it isn't done. It is, in fact, done quite frequently.

don't stress about age! My SIL married my bro at 33...had her first child at 35, then 37 and the last she was 40...all healthy beautiful children!

Don't let people scare you. Fertility does not suddenly drop for your 35th birthday. It starts to decline but lots of things contribute to how fast. My mom had a very uneventful surprise pregnancy at 38. My aunt had her first at 40. Just take care of yourself. Eat right, exercise and don't smoke. People can have perfect pregnancies or troublesome and age may have nothing to do with it. Genetics are more important then age.
If you are concerned talk to an ob/gyn sorry I have no suggestions since I am a Suffolk person. Good luck
