I kinda wish they had gone bankrupt 4 months ago so I could have gotten all our furniture with some % off!!! We got our living room and bedroom sets from Levitz in Aug/September.

We went to the one in Farmingdale over the weekend and it was a mad house! Most of things we liked were floor model only (we were looking at living room & dining room furniture). Even with 20% off, we felt is wasn't worth it since the floor models weren't in the best condition.

I've been meaning to get there myself but...they probably have nothing left now.
Levitz went bankrupt in like 2002 or so. My company handled of their bankruptcies back then. I don't know how they were able to stay in business but they did. A few years ago, I actually got hired at Levitz and gave my notice to my boss and he thought I was out of my mind and gave me some time to think about what I was doing. Thank God for my boss talking me out of taking the job otherwise I would be in a bad situation right now. All in all, Levitz has been in trouble for years.

I read over on LIF this isn't the first time they have done this... but it seems to me they really are going out of business, but the talk over there was they do this and never really close

I went last weekend and I have to say I was not impressed. The original prices appeared to be inflated so the sale price 'seemed' like a steal.

They really are going out of business this time. The last time they didn't go out of business, they just filed bankrutpcy. My company did the work for them. I know this for a fact.

i went to the one in carle place/westbury yesterday and it def seemed like it was closing for good - there was NOTHING nice left except a few dining room sets. prices really didnt seem all that great though.
