I'm coming home to NY for a MONTH at the end of May while DH is at Ranger School. I really want to do some fun stuff with my girlfriends since I miss them sooooo much and havent seen them since December. We were thinking of making a trip out to a winery on LI one day. I've never done wine tasting before so I dont know anything about good wineries, the cost, what you do.....
Any suggestions of great wineries??? And can you tell me if theres a charge for the tasting and what you did when you went.

i know u can pay for a package deal...it comes with a bus or van and takes u on a tour to a few different ones! my friends did it last year but i didn't end up going..i'll try to see who they went through - i know they had a blast!
I am on the South Shore. I know Duck Walk is free, but I prefer Wolffer Estates in Sagaponack. They have different tasting options, all around 30 dollars.

we did this for my bachelorette party..
we hired a 14 passenger lincoln stretch from Royalty(i used them for the wedding so they gave us a good deal).. brought our own lunch and drinks and ate at macari.. they had an out door seating area..
then we went to pindar and duckwalk (combo deal $5 pp), macari (think it was $3 or $5 pp), pelligrini (it was okay, we werent a fan of it)..
vineyard 48 and martha clara are suppose to be good as well.
Thanks ladies. I'm having such a hard time deciding on where to go. I definately want one winery that we can eat lunch outside and maybe even listen to music. But I'd also like to go to one where we can do a tour and is a little more romantic/rustic??? I think I like the looks of Bedell and Martha Clara. Cant decide on another one though.

I am personally a huge fan of Pindar, but of those two, I think Bedell has the better wines.

My favorite vineyard is Bedell. I love hanging out on their deck and their wine is phenomenal. For a more casual time, I like Osprey's Dominion.
