LIF Spinoff.... heaven?

If you believe in heaven (and I mean this nicely but... I don't care if you DON'T believe in heaven) what do you think it is like?

DH and I talk about this and I often wonder what would the conversation be like if I asked to sit down with our priest and pick his brain about it...

... but seriously, if you have thoughts and are comfortable answering... I'm interested.

My views are so mixed on this. I go back and forth. It does scare me to think that when we die our spirit goes with it in the ground. I feel like I have to believe their is more to this life than what we have right now. Not sure about what it is like. If it is a personal heaven filled and surrounded by all the things we love or if it is a heaven like we were taught about in Church. Weird.

Than I also feel that if there is a heaven, I probably won't get in anyway. So my question is, what do you think hell is like?? I have a feeling that is where me and my loved ones are going.

I don't have any images in my head about it...like, I don't necessarily subscribe to the whole idea of sitting on clouds and such (though I haven't ruled that out either)...but as far as what it's like aside from the visuals...I think it's a place where things are always good. People are kindhearted, there is no evil, and I do believe that we will reconnect with those that have passed before us that we knew here on Earth - people AND animals. I believe that people are able to do what makes them happy when they're on the other side, while still watching over those on Earth that they care about...this last part comes from so many people I know who have felt a presence/had a sign, especially in tumultuous times for themselves, myself included.

growing up i always pictured heaven as what i think most children picture it as:
white puffy clouds, perfect skies, unicorns, cherubs, rainbows, etc.

but my views have changed. as un-religious as this sounds... what i think is that your brain basically replays your life for you, but only the good.. you're first birthday, your first pet, your first kiss, etc thus making you happy and heaven is supposed to be a happy place.

so, while i think you're looking for more of a 'puffy clouds' answer.. thats what i think of as 'heaven'.

while hell... we're living it.

I do believe in Heaven. I do not think it's harps, clouds, etc. though.

I think that it is at least somewhat similar to the life that we have on earth. I once did a whole lot of research on this, and it has led me to believe that people know each other, engage in various activities, and are good people.

I think that the spiritual body is purer in a sense that the physical body. I DO think that we look like a person; I don't think that we are just blobs of air or something like that.

As far as where Heaven is...I'm not sure. I am inclined to believe that it is actually here, on Earth, except it is in a different dimension than we live in.

But as I'm typing this, I too think that we are reunited with our loved one's who passed before us (And yesm i'm with you Kris... animals too).

My mom, DH and I were talking about this one night and we all had the same question; If someone is married twice, assuming that the first spouse passed away, who do they reunite with in heaven?
And if you are reunited with the people that you loved.. do they come with the people they loved? Or is everyone's heaven seperate?

According to the Bible, there is no marriage in Heaven. The reason being is that marriage is a promise 'til death do you part.' Therefore, there is no need for marriage, because your love for this person is now eternal. You do not have to worry about the confines of life. Therefore, you would not be married to either of them; you would just love them both.

I don't read all of the Bible literally. However, this answer to me, makes sense in terms of religion, but also in terms of what the definition of marriage is.

I think so lol

I think that in the general sense, everyone is reunited (or united for those who haven't met before lol). I once read an article that said something like.. 'People often say we will be bored in Heaven!' and the response was along the lines of, 'You are going to be meeting everyone who ever lived! Getting to know all of those people could take a lifetime!'

Time or times?

Because (so far) the happiest times of my life are at very different stages of my life.

And I know I couldn't pick one over the other...and people from one part aren't there in the other part...

I like to believe there is a Heaven because I am extremely afraid of death and like to believe that there is more after like than everything just going dark. I like to think I will be reunited with loved ones and be able to watch over those I left behind and just enjoy a permanent state of bliss.

I do believe in heaven. I just picture it as all loved ones hanging out and having one big party and going about their business. I think it's filled with all things you love to do. Like my Heaven would be watching baseball, going dancing, being with DH, and hanging out with family.

I just hope I get to go to heaven because right now my BFF and I always say 'we're going to hell, you're driving the bus, but at least we'll be with friends.'
