Life insurance...

We have a life insurance rep. coming to our house today at 1.

Just curious what to expect from this meeting...like how much does it cost? Is it worth it? Can you include the cost in your mortgage?

Any thoughts?

I dont too much about insurance in general - it's on our to do list.

But I think life insurance is really important, especially since you own a house. Ideally you want the insurance policy for both of you to cover the entire mortgage in case god forbid something happens.

A couple of years ago I read a book called the Wealthy Barber. It's basically financial planning broken down into the simplest terms to get a better understanding of your needs. (the book uses 3 different people at different stages of their life as examples).

We have a GREAT insurance guy that comes to the house and sit with you and ASKS you what you expect from insurance. We wanted something that we can put away each month (set amount) and that we can draw on it in years to come!

Insurance is VERY confusing but he made this very understandable!! May sure that if there is something that you do not understand...ask lots of questions.

I can also probably answer any questions you might have regarding the difference between term and universal life (that's what most people get confused about)
