God I wish there was a way to boycott them!

DH and I added up all our increases between train, student loan, rent, and one other bill our monthly raise on bills is $315. No pay raise this year. I need a second job. Anyone know of anything for the weekends I can get to in Long beach? I get home too late on weeknights to wait tables after work.

Thanks for depressing me!

F-ing ridiculous. My commute will now cost more than $400 a month from Huntington to Brooklyn.

I don't work in the city but I used to, about 8 years ago, and it was a lot THEN.

So sorry for all of you who take the train!!

Re: LIRR price calculator

basically I am spending the monthly payment of a nice car to go to and from work. Im so annoyed. DH and i love our apartment but when we signed the new lease it was before we new about this stuff going up and i had thoguht I would be getting a small rasie. Had we known, we would have moved. Now we have to find a way to make this work for 2 more years. Im gonna have to get a part time weekend job. So now living on the beach is basically a waste.

If I end up moving out permanently to LI my monthly pass will be $352 to Ronkonkoma plus $103 for a monthly metrocard since I work downtown.

My train ticket goes up $50, our electric is going up and our gas bill is going up.

I feel your paid DH rides the lirr everyday from Ronkonkoma to Penn. The increase is horrible, and what really bothers me is that the service is horrific. They are always late, they have some nerve getting an increase.

so here's my problem...when Gas was $5 a gallon, I drove 40 miles each way to work and paid for the bridge and the New Rochelle toll...i get a job where i can take LIRR (don't need subway) and now the fares go up.

I can't win. Mine will go up $50

as of now its still supposed to go up on May 31st, unless Albany comes up with a brilliant plan. Paterson said he might have a way but who knows.

I also just read in the paper today that they might cut service on the trains at night and not be 24 hours that is insane
