Little Bit of a Pickle... sharing proof CDs with ILs

Little Bit of a Pickle... sharing proof CDs with ILs

Fantastic 12th night gives you the files of your proofs on DVD.

My MIL and BIL and SIL are ecstatic about this and have been begging me to bring them over to BILs house so that he can burn copies for everyone. I was so pleased that they could take advantage of buying cheap prints and said I would bring it next week when we go over there.

the pickle..

I totally forgot that there are few (4) risque pictures of me when I was getting ready. Right before I put my dress on of me, from the neckline up, holding my lady bits in my hands. They are very 'tasteful' and really don't show much more that my off-the-shoulder dress didnt show. (one might show a wee bit more 'upper/side boobage' enough for me to blush at the idea of BIL seeing it)

I feel like a weirdo giving them the discs with those on it... they really were just for DH to enjoy.

I suppose I wouldnt care if MIL saw them, she is pretty cool........ bit B/SIL it would be creepy.

Proactive answers to what I think you might ask :
1. I don't have a DVD burner of my own.. there is no way to give them all of the pics without those
2. I offered to share them on Snapfish, but his Mom loves to play with stuff in photoshop and would love the actual files (SIL wants to use the picture of their family for her xmas card)
3. 12th Night gave a disc of the DVD slideshow pictures, but the one SIL wants isnt there.

Oy.

ANY options Im missing?

It s u c k s, but your best bet is putting them all on your hard drive and burning CDs of the photos... even if it means making multiple cd's for 1 set of pix... Atleast it gets your ho-shots outta there I totally would NOT give those away to anyone other than DH as well, even if theyre tasteful... it's just the meaning behind it! they were meant for DH's eyes, not his moms

eta: not for nothing, how are we supposed to talk about VACUUMS on liw?!?!

Do you know anyone that has a DVD burner - that you can use it, and make them a CD without those pics? Maybe you can check if you can do this on your own at Kinkos.

OR

Since you dont mind your MIL seeing those pics, maybe you can burn her one copy on her computer, and then delete the 'risques' ones for BIL and SIL.

HO SHOTS!!

Mrs. B does it again!!

Thanks ladies... all good tips.

Was also thinking I could ask to sit at the computer and do the actual burning at BILs house and just not put those on there? But then Id have to explain it was because I was a dirty s!ut on my wedding day

Put all the pics you want them to get on snapfish or something. DO NOT bring the CD to their house. At their house, download all the pics from snapfish and burn them onto a CD.

Problem solved.

Can you burn them the disks yourself, and remove the picutures in question?

OR, simply tell them that you don't want to share the disk in entirety b/c there are some really awful pictures that you don't want them to see. Be adamant.
Period.
They won't question that.

My inlaws were beggin to see the cd for weeks. I put together an album for them on snapfish and never gave them the cd. They never asked about it again.
If that doesn't work, maybe you can download the pics you don't want them to see onto your computer and delete them from the disk.

Ive tried saving a Snapfish file before as an image and it doesnt work, its not the high-res like the original file it was... does that make sense?

Its just saving an image on a website, rather than a file, direct from the camera, that is hi-res.

I dont have a DVD burner at home.

I think I'll just say that I want to sit at the computer and do it for them so that I can de-select the pictures in question. Good idea to just call them 'really awful'

I'm sure they will try to charge about $7,876,908 for this but could you call the photographer and ask them if they could mail you another cd with the pics on it. Threaten them with a really bad review on LIW if they don't do it.
I would not go through the pics with everyone standing around with my luck the computer would freeze and my naked arse would be stuck on the screen.

I guess I don't understand why your in-laws have to have high res copies of ALL your proofs. I'd never give my parents or my inlaws copies of ALL my proofs. They're MINE!

can't you just tell them up front there are some pics u don't want to share and then after they download the disc, delete those pics off their hard drive?
thats what i did.

I dunno.. I really don't care if they want them all.. I was happy that they wanted them and had a use for them. Until, of course, I remembered the skanky pics in there

Why not? What good is it NOT to give them the digital files?

Re: Little Bit of a Pickle... sharing proof CDs with ILs

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with it at all. I'm just saying they should need to have the hundreds of pictures in high res *if* you don't want them to. So if you prefer to give them the pics another way to avoid them seeing the pictures that aren't meant for their eyes, you shouldn't feel bad about that. You can always give them high res copies or have prints made of the ones they want if the quality of the ones you'd upload to snapfish and download wouldn't be as good. (I still don't see how they are no longer high res, though I'm really bad with this stuff, lol)

Sorry - didn't mean to imply you were doing something wrong.
