LIVID right now!!!

Sorry girls, I just need to vent!!!

I had told you awhile back that I felt a lump in my breast. I went to my new OB/GYN on Thursday last week and he doesn't think its anything major, but he wants me to see a surgeon (breast or general) to confirm. They gave me a list of surgeons in the area that they recommend. I called ALL of them and not ONE of them takes Oxford Liberty insurance!!! I called my doctor's office back and faxed them a list from Oxford's website of surgeons that DO take Oxford Liberty. They recommended 2 of them to me. GUESS what! I called both and one retired and the other moved upstate 6 months ago!!! I seriously want to cry right now! Clearly, Oxford's website is not up to date at all, but worse than that, every doctor seems to take Oxford Freedom, but not Liberty. I know I should be thankful that I even HAVE insurance, but this is just so frustrating I want to smack someone! So now I am at a loss. I REALLY don't want to choose a surgeon at random off of Oxford's list but at this point I may not have an option... UCK!!!! I hate my cheapo boss for choosing such a crappy option for us!!!

Did you try to call your insurance company and ask for a list of doctors you can see?

I hope you can get a good recommendation soon!

I am so sorry. Trust me I know exactly how you feel. I have two doctors for you. One is in Rockville Center the other in Long Beach. Please FM me if you want the info. I know they are kindof far but I had 2 very good experiences with them

Ask your family, friends, everyone to see if you can get a recommendation. If not just pick a name from Oxfords web (I did this with my OBGYN).

I have not tried calling Oxford yet b/c it's always such a long wait on the phone. I will try that on my lunch or something maybe tomorrow. I will also see if I can file a complaint about their website being out of date! It doesn't even show that Stonybrook Hospital accepts my insurance, and I know they do!!! SO annoying!

I'm so sorry. It's so absolutely frustrating to have insurance but not be able to use it anywhere. I hope you find someone ok. I have gone to a few doctors just off my insurance list and ended up loving them. Hopefully it will work out that way for you!
