Ok I LOVE LOVE LOVE Camping!! honstely for those girls who are not into it that much! Really i would reconsider!! Me and DH try and go once a year, altho we didnt go last year cuz of wedding craziness! but its cheap and a ton of fun!!
to me its like one big Tailgate party!!! drink beers, cook food, eat smores!! DH and I have a ton of fun Tailgate games that we bring, like tailgate toss, ladder ball, washers!! DH has this awesome grill that he brings and some how we manage to have an awesome gourmet meal in the woods!! Just think of the amount of fun a big group of us would have!!!!
Seriously who is in?? I will start doing my research of a really awesome Campsite!!! One summer 2010 night or weekend!! whoo hoo cant wait!!

oh i should add...i know nothing bout camping..i went with the girl scouts and almost got eaten by a bear cause they said not to bring foods in the tent and i did..then got yelled at

HAHAHA!! as long as we get eaten by Bears together it will def still be worth it!!
yeah we usually keep the food in coolers and lock it up in the trunk of the car over night.

They have some really awesome campsites upstate - it's not too far of a drive for some of them - maybe an hour- hour & 1/2 outside of the city

depending on time of year.... not by a lake is not good in the hot hot humid weather. you get swarms of mosquitos. if it's a little cooler out still then it's nice by the lake.
we learned a lesson when we stayed by a lake once... it was hot hot hot! actually, I learned 2 lake lessons.... 1 - don't stay near one in humid weather and 2 - don't drink and get too close or you fall in and some stranger has to fish you out after hearing your screams for help!!! there was at least a 3 to 4 foot muddy drop before the top of the lake.... so i was stuck holding onto the branches growing out of the mudd wall. haha... i saved my sippy cup of vodka and my flip flops though.

you can look into Kittatiny....its in Barryville NY (just outside Port Jervis) we go there every year and you can get sites that are right on the Delaware River.....they have porta pottys close to the sites and across the street at the check in/store they have regular bathrooms and showers.
There are a bunch more in that area...one even has a bar/restaurant at it..
