Re: locks of love Qs
My sister did this and she went to her regular salon. She didn't have layers, so I'm not sure about that, but they told her she had to have 10 inches with her hair in a pony tail, so I don't think they care about the layers.

1. yes. just make sure the hair is put into a braid or ponytail before you cut it. you want to keep the hair as fresh as possible.
2. check the locks of love website.
3. yes. i did that. but you can also do it for wigs for kids. wigs for kids gives to all kids regarless of whether thier hair will grow back or not, and locks of love only gives to terminally ill.

1. I believe any salon can cut it- I just printed up the info from the website and brought it to my hairdresser: Locks of Love
2. The shortest pieces have to be at least 10' and you can straighten wavy/curly hair to meet requirement.
3. I donated my hair about a year and a half ago-got the little postcard-it was nice. I just recently donated to Pantene's great lengths because that only has to be 8' and my hair wasn't as long this time. Good luck! As always,FM me if anymore q's.
