Looking back on your wedding, was there anything you would have made a BIGGER fuss about? Something you would have fought harder for? Something that you allowed yourself to be persuaded not to do or to do? Did someone steamroll you and you wish you had been stronger?
I personally wish I had been stronger and asked DH's relatives to leave the bridal party cocktail area while we were taking pictures. We have very few bridal party pics because all of the extended family jumped in every picture. They ate all of the food that was brought out for the bridal party and DH and me. DH and I were posing for pics and when I finally got a change to get a bite to eat, DH's cousin was stuffing the last piece of finger food in his mouth. Granted, the maitre 'd brought more, but I was really annoyed.
And my bridesmaids felt unncessary and stood off to the side with an attitude that we would call them if we needed them for pics.
I wish DH and I would have argued more with his mother to get the relatives taken away for a while.
Thanks for letting me vent. Now please share your own.

Re: Looking back- spinoff...
I wish that I had added a half hour to the CH. (We got married at the hall.) Since we had family coming from far and near, we took group pictures of the 4 sides and it ate up a lot of time. Our photographer didn't have enough time to get as many pictures of just the 2 of us as I would have liked. (I like the ones he took, I just would have liked more.)

Re: Looking back- spinoff...
There were a few things, actually. My DH didn't want to go outside to take pictures, in fact, he didn't want to spend very much time taking pictures at all during our cocktail hour. I wish I would've had some outside.
Also, I could've been a little more organized and/or clear on which photos I wanted taken (there are a few combinations I forgot to get) and with one particular song I wanted.
And I should've got on the florist a little more, I've seen bok's sold on the street for $40 that were more extravagant than mine which was about $200!!! She had absolutely no personality and didn't offer much help.

I definitelly wished I had organized the picture taking a little better. We didn't not have too much time and we were all over the wedding party was MIA and I don't have a prof picture of me and DHwith my parents.
I would have gotten a cake isntead of the one the hall gave us since it wasn't the greatest.

I sort of touched on it on the other post but I would have badgered my hall a lot more about the cake. I had heard terrible reviews about their cake and didn't trust them to get it right and they definitely didn't. Of course, once the day arrived, I wasn't going to make a big stink, but I should've made more noise beforehand, maybe I would've gotten a more professional looking cake. They definitely heard from me afterward though.
I think that's pretty much it though.

I would have hired a videographer. My MOH's DH brought his camcorder and took a bunch of footage. When I saw it, I saw all the things throughout the day that I had either missed or forgotten.
Hindsight is 20/20.

I would have fought harder about my flowers. They were beautiful, but the florist made a few mistakes, and they weren't exactly what I wanted. He fixed the chuppah, but it still wasn't right, and it bothers me to this day.

I think I would have liked to have been more organized about the picture taking - and made sure myself (instead of relying on the parents) to organize the extended family into pictures. And, I think I would have been a little more specific about the flowers - the roses were beautiful, but the hydrengeas pooped out by the end - I wish I had asked how long the flowers stay bright and vibrant. But otherwise, I wouldn't change a thing!

Re: Looking back- spinoff...
1. Put more thought into the cake. It wasn't what I wanted or had pictured. But it was so good, I guess that is most important! 2. I wish I'd splurged on the tall candlestick centerpieces. I think they would have added to the room. 3. I forgot to get a pic with my family and DH's family together. That was the first time they all met and they all got along so well.

Re: Looking back- spinoff...
I wish someone would've told me that my veil looked silly! I had a fingertip waterfall and a cathedrial and the way they went in it just didn't look perfect. I noticed it afterwards in pictures. Other than that - I wish I could relive my wedding day all over again AND I WOULDN'T CHANGE A SINGLE THING!

Re: Looking back- spinoff...
I would have gone to my CH just to look around. From what I've seen in photos and videos and what I've heard, it was fantastic but I wanted to see for myself. And I wanted to see all the floral arrangements (like the one in the ladies' room) but never got to. Again, I heard they were beautiful.

Re: Looking back- spinoff...
The one big regret was that I was running behind from my house to where we were taking pictures due to hair and makeup taking longer and when I arrived at my aunt's house to take pics I had to get dressed super fast so I wouldn't delay the whole picture taking thing. So I practically threw on everything in a hurry and didn't take the time to enjoy the experience of putting on my gown for the first time. I really wish I had just taken the 10 minutes to take it all in. It wouldn't have made a big difference in the pictures.

Re: Looking back- spinoff...
i would have told the BP and family members to shut up, stop complaining about the wait and get your picture taken!
Some were really wanting to get in and eat food...
I wish i was a little more forceful about them staying outside and taking more pics!

Re: Looking back- spinoff...
I 'realized' that we didn't have many closeup 'nice' pictures of DH and I that day, but for some reason didn't say anything to our photographer. I wish I had! I guess that's not THAT bad!

Re: Looking back- spinoff...
I would have made the photographer take big extended family shots. He didn't, and although we don't care that much, both familes have gotten on our case about it.
I would have had more portrait pics of DH alone. There's ONE. I got a bunch, but he didn't get any.
I would have specified flowers more. It's my fault, I told him a 'Spring Mix' would be fine, but I don't like sunflowers that much, and there were quite a few.
I would have made 100% certain that my stepfather had the directions to the hotel, and not just the hall. The night before no one slept because they all got lost.
I would have told the videographer to set up the second camera facing the audience, not from the back of the cantor, and I would have had her get testimonals from our friends, not just family.
Those are the big things that I could have controlled. Everything else was out of my hands, and even these things were mentioned by me to the various people except the flowers and the video (I gave the photographer a list that included the family shots and the Groom's portrait, I asked my stepfather if he knew where the hotel was).
I might have had a rehersal, or at least a briefing for the ceremony (Jewish weddings tradtionally don't, but my dad went and sat in the audience right before the ceremony was about to start!)
However, there's only so much you can control, and overall, everything was wonderful.
