Maggie Sottero Dress

A friend of mine, who is getting married soon, is a student on a budget, and is looking to buy a used dress.

She tried on and loved the Maggie Sottero dress called Lavina Royale.

Did anyone wear this dress? If so, are you looking to sell it?

Or.. where did you buy it?

I didn't wear this dress obviously but how low is her budget? A genuine Maggie isn't usually very expensive. Even in nice places I went to some of the pettiest ones were 500 bucks.

She should look at some of the reputable bridal places online if she wants a specific dress. Tell her to pick up the book 'Bridal Bragains.' Or at least look through a copy at barnes N Noble and write down all the info she wants from it. I found alot of online places but I didn;'t have a specific dress in mind. They rate the places and the individual dress designers too. Its really a fantastic resource. I bought it for my two friends who are getting married.

Its the best one out there. I'd give her my copy but mom packed up all stuff in storage and I have no idea where it is. It really helped me cut corners without cutting out important things.

Our budget was 15,000 and we remained within it.

for 500???? personally i didn't find any for that low...atleast not the more extravagant ones...the straight simple gowns were ATLEAST 900 & up.. maybe she can bring the photo to a custom gown designer or even go to certain bridal shops & ask about price &/or similiar gowns?? I'd also post on EVERY wedding website(here, theknot., etc..) i also know there's a specific site thats solely for selling wedding gowns but i dont know the name ...she can also look into all the knockoff sites & shops.. i hope she finds it! the book jenn mentions above is a great idea. the gown is gorgous! good luck to her

I did when i was shoping with my MOH but I was in NJ so maybe that's why? One that was all over lace was $549. With alterations then it goes up of course. Most expensive one I saw was $950.

aaaah those were the sites i was talkin' about!

Oh and don't forget about Filene's Basement Running of the Brides. Not sure when the next one is but its usually 2x a year. There's one in the summer & one in the winter. Dresses max out at $699 I think

It looks like this is a relatively new dress style. Every place online I have looked at has the same price. Def try finding someone who wore it because it looks like otherwise her only option s findign someone to make a knockoff.

this is what I was thinking-every maggie I saw was over $900 and the one I wanted was n othing special at it was 950

I think that is a new dress design so I doubt any of the 07ers wore it, I would put it on the 08 board-it is a gorgeous dress
