make up question

make up question

for those of you who use brushes to apply foundation, or other cream makeups, how do you clean the brushes? do you wash them with soap and water? or is there some kind of solution that you use?

I'm trying not to use a make up sponge any longer, and don't want to ruin the nice brushes I just bought...

tia ladies!

08er crashing.

I use philosophy purity.

I used to use Johnson's baby shampoo but that made the brushes really really fluffy and some lost their shape. Purity is the best. I wash my eyeshadow brushes almost daily and they come out perfect.

Re: make up question

I have a Bobby Brown Foundation brush that I use and absolutely love. I clean it with makeup remover wipes and then let it dry. Once i used soap and water on my old Mac foudnation brush and it never went back to being soft, it was just stiff, so i had to throw it away and get a new one.

Re: make up question

u definetly need to use a brush sanitizer...especially if they're natural bristles..
any sanitizing hand soap will dry them out, and regular shampoo wont kill the bacteria.

at bare excentuals we have an awesome intant sanitizing spray... u spray it on a tissue(or paper towel, towel, whatever!) and just swipe the brush back & forth..it instantly removes all the color & bacteria..it's instant drying too so it allows u to use the same brush for different products (GREAT for eyes & face stuff!)..if ur doing this on a regular basis then u can get away with giving the brushes a good cleaning with a regular gentle shampoo just once a month(if ur not sanitizing on a regular basis u should be doing a deep clean at least every 10days..)

also a tip: always lay ur brushes on their side to dry! if u stand them up in a cup or something, the water will soak into the handle..

hope this helps!

absolutely! i get 50% off! the only thing that stinks is that i have to get it when i clock out.... the computer wont allow me to apply the discount to YOUR purchase and the managers wont let us do it while u're there because if it's not for me personally it has to be considered a 'gift' lol(ie: they can't see u actually hand me money). so u'd have to give me the money, i'd have to pick it up, and then drop it off...
...i could also see about shipping it out??? totally up to you! but pick out what u want & then we'll figure it out! but DEFINETLY! 50% is a huge discount..so take advantage!!

Re: make up question

u can look on BareEscentuals.com... they have a bunch of stuff to look at, but if u can get ur hands on a catalogue that's really ur best bet...i know there's a manhattan boutique on the UES on 3rd ave. right around 66th & 67th st... they'll give u one if u just pop in & ask.. otherwise u can browse the site...but i know it doesn't have everything...just a few colors in each category..

if u like fun eyeshadows the new Foiled Eye kit is AWESOME. i'm obsessed with it
