I'd like to try and make choc cov strawberries for my niece's first birthday party this weekend. DOes anyone know what store I can buy the chocolate at ? I know the process of making them is not too hard, Im just not sure of any chocolate store around. Would party city have it?
I've purchased choc for lollipops at party stores like that...
any input would be appreciated !!

Try a gourmet shop -- or Micheal's or AC Moore Crafts. They usually have a baking section with melting chocholates.
I don't know a thing about making them, but if you happen to have any extras lying around I'll gladly take them off your hands!! : )
Anna-
They are so easy to make. Yes, you use melting chocolates. Clean the strawberries and make sure they are dried well before you dip them. Melt chocolates in microwave in a bowl. Microwave the chocolate for short intervals until they are melted. If you overmelt them, they will not work well. Dip the strawberries and then put them on wax paper to harden. Try to do them no more than 4 hours before you are serving them because they will discolor. Have fun with it, what a 'sweet' thing to do for your niece.
Anna,
What a great aunt you are!!. Most supermarkets have the melting chocolate right in the produce section. It is in a little tub and you just pop it in the microwave.
My mouth is watering! I have been craving (remember, I'm pregnant!) chocolate covered strawberries for weeks. This is the one indulgence that I have asked my husband for on Valentine's Day...I just hope he remembers!!
Otherwise, I guess I'll have to make my own! :)
I hope that your family enjoys them!
Thanks for the info ladies !
I'm sure my little chubsy wubsy precious niece will devour them !!
I'm more looking forward to the ELMO (character) I got her !! :)
Got Elmo for niece #1 so gotta be fair!
I'll let you know how they all turn out!
