Making steak tonight... any ideas?

Making steak tonight... any ideas?

We don't have a BBQ, so I either have to grill it on my griddle, or broil it in the oven. I forget what cut of meat it is... Its pretty thick and on the bone though.

This is my first attempt! What do you ladies recommend?

Do you have a grill pan? I have done it on a grill pan and it is good! And if you have a grill press, even better.

Season it with salt and pepper and if its not a none stick, use some butter or olive oil on the pan first. Put on the steak and leave it on the one side for like at least 5 minutes. Maybe up to 7 minutes. Then flip it and do the same. Depending on how you like it cooked check the firmness of it by comparing it to your face. LOL. Cheek= rare, chin- medium, forehead=well done. This actually works!! Try not to flip the steak more than once if possible. Twice at the most! you dont want to dry it out.

Question-- how do you compare it to your face I am thinking of ways that I KNOW are totally wrong.

I don't have a stove grill... not even totally sure what that is LOL!

I only have an electric skillet, griddle and then the oven obviously.

My mom is suggesting broiling it but I dunno...

you feel that part of your face and touch the steak at same time. Compare the firmness to the part of your face that is the same as what you wanted to cook it to. Ie. if you want well done, it should feel as firm as your forehead.

I season it with adobo before i grill it. then in a pan I sautee sliced peppers and onions in pam cooking spray with a little bit of minced garlic. Then i pour the peppers and onions over the steak when it's done. DH LOVES it.

you can pan fry it first and then bake it in the oven. I like to marinate it in peter lugers steak sauce before I cook it
