how long after you were married does it take to get the marriage cert. in the mail? .............we have a ton of checks that we need to deposit and neither of our banks will deposit them without the cert.

We had our's by the time we got back from our HM. (2 weeks later..not sure which day it came though)

Mine took longer, but I got married during the holidays.
But we had NO trouble depositing our checks before then.

were the checks made out to 'mr & mrs......' or 'John & Jane Smith'? .....both our banks told us we that bc all the checks were made out this way we needed the marr. cert.

made out all different ways, but if it was Mr. and Mrs. John Smith, then my husband signed the check and deposited it that way.

Ours took awhile. I want to say 8 weeks. I bank with Chase and they allowed us to deposit all of our checks but DH had to be there in person.

we got married 7/17, we had the marriage cert by 7/24,
our banks made me sign the checks with married and madien name.

we got ours the same week as our wedding. td bank allowed us to deposit all our checks. you should ask to speak with manager. it was a joint account. we sighed it as it was written and if anything dh name is still the same so he signed it.

Ours was in the mail when we got home from our HM.
You shouldn't have any trouble depositing the checks, just write 'for deposit only' and the account number. Maybe go to a different branch, this is what we did and had no problems.

Was waiting for us when we got back from our honeymoon. We had no problem depositing our checks. We just wrote, 'For Deposit Only' & the account #.

within 2 weeks... was there when we got home from HM. We kept a copy of the marriage license and showed the bank that, so they let us deposit everything. But I had to sign any check made out to mr and mrs 2 times (signed it with old name and new name)

Ours came when we were on our HM, so I would guess less then 2 weeks.
