Not at all, you have at least 6 months from the wedding date to get them out. Usually once you pick out your thank you it shouldn't take more than 2 weeks for them to be ready.

We've been married 3 months and I JUST picked up our TYs, haven't started writing them out yet. Your guests will understand, just don't procrastinate too much.

I wouldn't say you're bad, but you might want to get that done soon.

would you believe that my MIL said something to me about the TY's less than a month after my wedding? meanwhile... I got them out in 5-6 weeks!

im married almost 3 and we havent done it yet either.

our goal is to pick it this week.

we have it narrowed down to 5 i think that is good.

I'm a big fan of getting them in and getting them out. We sent ours out soon because after the past 4 weddings we went to took over 9 months to get to us, and 1 I never got one (from Nov'04!). We sent ours out 2 months from our wedding date. I personally hate getting them over 1 year later.

So I'd like some Newlyweds opionions on this...

i've been to 6 weddidngs in 2 years. At each, FH & I gave well over $400.00 (check or gifts), however have never received a TY from ANY wedding. The most recent one was 10/2005.

Am I being unreasonable to care? Also, does in in-person TY take the place of a written one? Normally I'm not one to care about this kind of stuff, but at one wedding, we spent $600, and didn't even get the in-person TY!!!
