Yes its happened to me but the most is that I've been 2 weeks late. Never missed one entirely.

Ditto. Freaked me right out, too, because otherwise I run like clockwork.

I've skipped months.

You know how sometimes when you live with other women your periods change and get in sync with each other? I am very sensitive to this. I had the same period as my mom growing up and then within a month or two my cycle was exactly the same as my college roommate.

Well apparently if a woman goes on hormonal birth control, her pheromones can change and that will altar my cycle too. The first time it happened was second semester of sophomore year of college. My roommate went on the Pill and I skipped a month. However at the time I had a really bad sinus infection and was taking antibiotics and a lot of cold medicine. So I thought that was it. Then Senior year the same thing happened with a different roommate who wasn't on the Pill but started it mid year. Then when I was in graduate school, my roommate started the Ring and I skipped a month. I was freaking out because the timing was right for me to be pregnant! I too a pregnancy test and it was negative. Eventually got my period the next month.

I was talking to my gynecologist about it and she said that if I ever go more than 90 days, even if pregnancy tests are negative I should go see her. She was asking if there were changes in diet, exercise or stress that could have caused it, and that's when I realized that it happened as soon as a roommate started hormonal birth control! I asked her if that could be possible and she said yes, definitely. I think the human body is really amazing that it can pick up such subtle signals like that and make changes in response.

I was late by about two and a half weeks once when I was stressed out.

It's worth a call to your OB/GYN.

if its a one time thing I would say its prob stress-related but if your skipping a month here and there I would call the dr. and have a sono done just to make sure you're having regular cycles.
