meat gone bad

I took out London broil steak in the morning (9:15) and put it in a dish to let it thaw …I come home from work around 6:45 and cant start defrosting meat then gets too late!!... so I took it out and DH comes home around 3:00 so I figure he can than just marinate it and put it in the fridge and than ill come home and cook it… but DH cant make it home anytime soon. I’ll be home first which is at 6:45pm… so my poor meat will be out since 9:15 … has it gone bad??? Does meat usually go bad like that? My apt is not warm, very cold in the kitchen …. And I did not put the meat in water or anything… just in a bowl covered it with plastic wrap. now im sitting here at work worrying!

I don't know if it will be bad..like bad enough that you cant eat it, but it is better to always defrost meat/poultry in the fridge. You should put it in the fridge in the Am to defrost.
