Pretty, pretty, pretty please can you share your recipe for these???
My friend made them once at a party, they were great! Some were plain chocolate and some she rolled in finely chopped nuts, or sprinkles or any other yummy extra that would stick!
I'm assuming you just melt chocolate and dunk, but do you have to get special chocolate? Thanks!

Re: Michelle31 - Choc Covered Pretzels
Obviously I'm not Michele but I've made these before - delicious! I just used chocolate discs from a candy store, or even Michaels - they're easier to melt. Then once the pretzel is dipped, lie them flat on wax paper and refrigerate

Re: Michelle31 - Choc Covered Pretzels
I have made chocolate in molds for the holidays these past 3 years. I have to say the best chocolate to melt is Merckens...tastes like hershey or similar. Very easy to do when you buy the discs and pour into the molds. I melt the chocolate in the micro in a ziploc bag, cut the end, and squeeze in. This year I am trying the chocolate covered pretzels as office gifts.

Re: Michelle31 - Choc Covered Pretzels
The girls are all correct. I go to Emily's choclate in Nesconset and get a few pounds of choclate. While I LOVE nestle, they only sell Merkens now. Buy the thin pretzels and buy a few bags- you need full ones, not broken. Just melt the choc. over a double broiler- not on the stove directly. Then dip the pretzels and place on wax paper- not foil or cling wrap. I also melt a few pieces of colored choc. and drizzle it over the pretzels to make them look nice. YUMMY!!!

Re: Michelle31 - Choc Covered Pretzels
Thank ladies!!! And I figure if I don't get a chance to do it before everyone arrives, it would be a project to keep the nieces and nephews busy before the bird is done!

Re: Michelle31 - Choc Covered Pretzels
The recipe sounds easy, but I'm useless in the kitchen. Does anyone know a good place to buy them ready made so I can make little baskets to give to people for a small Christmas gift? Thanks!

Cravings in Plainview makes really good ones and they have a ton of basket type stuff to put in. They are on Old Country Rd. just past Manetto Hill Rd.

I work right by Cravings! Aren't they expensive though? I know their lunches seem to be.

Making your own is super cheap. Buying good choc. covered pretzels will cost you a bundle.
Oh, and you can also do choc. covered oreo cookies. I do those for Christmas.
