We purchased one and it is SOOOOOOO staticky. (I probably spelled that wrong) lol
If I use scotch guard on the couch, would that fix it? Anyone have any good remedies?
I edited the topic b/c I realized it's a microsuede lol I guess microfiber is the same thing, but whatever.

Re: microfiber couch?
I would love a remedy to this as well! Plus, the dog lays on it, so his hair is all over and I can't get it off!!! I have tried that sticky-roller thing and it does nothing! So annoying!!! I hate the winter for the static reasons!

Re: microfiber couch?
I saw a commercial for this the other day and just found it online! I really want to try this:
That's pretty cool. I don't really have too much of a problem with the hair just yet. He has short hair and doesn't shed a whole lot right now. We have throws over the new couch so if any hair does get on it, we can just shake it off outside or w/e. If we do have major issues, I will pick this up:)

Ugh, we have had the same problem, but it only started when we put the Christmas tree up! I still can't get rid of it though! Let me know if you find a solution!

Re: microfiber couch?
Wow, who would've thought this was such a big issue. I google'd 'Static on microfiber couches' and I came up with this:

I guess you can try the static guard, and if that doesn't work maybe the fabric softener and the water?

Re: microfiber couch?
I think my couch iss microfiber. It feels like suede? Mine has never been staticy. But whenever people spill on it, it wipes up no problem! I wonder if wiping driyer sheets on it would help? Did you try googleing to find anything? Let us know what you end up doing.

Yeah, I google'd and apparently alot of people have the same exact problem with their microfiber suede couches.
I will try some of the things suggested and see how it goes ;)

I just saw a new product to get dog hair off the couch-pet hair removal. I saw it at Walmart in Centereach.

Re: microsuede couch?
We have the same problem, very stacky, and its impossible to get up pet hair. I use a lint roller on it at least twice a day for the pet hair. Let me know if you find a solution!

Re: microsuede couch?
we have microsuede and i LOVE it.......everything tends to get static in the winter - especially when its cold and dry......just spray your couch with static guard every week and it should be fine....that is what i do......i spray static guard on my clothes, around electronics and on the couch to keep the static to a minimum - i even have a can i keep at work - between the computer and all the metal filing cabinets there is tons of static....
a suggestion for those with pets - i bought a throw for the couch - but its for pets - i got it at costco awhile ago - its for my dogs spot on the couch - she knows that the only place she is allowed is where her blanket is - that keeps her hair contained to that area - and her funk as well i lysol the couch about every other day (b/c of the dog) and once a week i change her blanket (i have 2 that i switch between) - then every 2 weeks or so i vaccuum the entire couch - doing that keep our furniture really clean - not much dog hair or dust.....also microfiber is SUPER easy to clean - i love it!

Re: microsuede couch?
softly rub a bounce wipe over the material and the static will be less. it wont go away entirely, but it won't be as staticy

Re: microsuede couch?
I tried the dryer sheets and they worked, they minimized the static. I will try the softener and the water spray. :)

Re: microsuede couch?
i have microsuede ...but I don't have that problem so much. I would just try rubbing an actual dryer sheet on it. also, try getting a whole home or single room humidifier.
