Migranes

How often do you get migranes? I get them often but now I am getting them more often,,,,at least 2 maybe 3 times a week. I dont know if its stress from work or what. Should I go to the DR just to play it safe?

i get migranes almost everyday! its so unbearable sometimes, i have to leave early.

i still havent seen a doctor about it yet, but i really think its because i sit in front of a computer all day, and just staring at it ...

another reason i think is because i wear my hair up alot. in a ponytail..

i am sooo right there with you though.. its terrible.

It can be the computer.....i never thought of that. I also wear contacts.....DH think its got something to do with them.

I just want them to go away.

Did you recently get a new prescription? Sometimes even being off by a little can cause awful headaches. My migraines are due to lack of sleep and hormonal changes.

Re: Migranes

I don't get these, but DH tells me I give them, currently running 2-3 a week...

J/K but I know they are HORRENDOUS - a doctor can definitely help isolate the 'triggers' for you; they can be hormonol or environmental, or a combination; A woman I work with is on some new medication (she's out today, I forget the med's name?) and she SWEARS its the only thing that helps - IF, and this is a big IF, she takes it in time (i.e. before its at its height).

Definitely get a dr. appt, and if you feel it coming on you may need to get AWAY from your pc for a bit; Quiet and darkness help, she goes to an empty conference room and puts on a sleep mask; usually 20 minutes and she's OK after that!!!

Re: Migranes

there can be soo many things that can trigger a migrane. I suffer with this on going conditon for quite some time.
Been to many Neurologists .. whatnot.
Best advise I can give you is try to get a neck massage see if that helps. Try to take breaks during the day while looking at the computer.
Also the best pain pill for this is Excedrin Migrane.

I used to follow a regimen of taking a teaspoon of Raw coconut oil a day and that will help the amount of miagranes you have per week and month.
Feel better

Re: Migranes

I used to get very bad migraines before I moved in with DH, and usually they were from breaking away from my usual 'routine' of drinking tea, eating at certain times, and going to sleep and waking up (can't oversleep!) at certain times.

Now, DH monitors it and I get migraines a lot less. Also, I have prescription medication that helps within an agonizingly painful (I'm sure you can empathize) 1/2 hour!

Re: Migranes

I get migraines - probably like 3-4+ a week.

I take relpax or imitrex to kill the pain. Get these prescriptions if you get migraines...they are a savior and it takes forever to (if they ever) figure out what causes them.

FM me for info.

I ould go to the DR. There are some meds you can try. I know how rough they could be!! I tend to get them in spurts like 2 months almost everyday ad them get a break from them for a while.

Many triggers but I would def try the neck masaage someone suggested. I now go for weekly massages (back issues) and have noticed a marked improvement from my migraines.

Ohh.. and at first when you said go to DR- I thought you meant dominican republic- I was thinking that could work

Feel better soon

Re: Migranes

there are sooooooooooooooo many triggers for migranes sweetie, I wouldn't even know where to begin.

I think you should try to think about the last few attacks and try to identify the trigger. Going to doctors may prove to be a very long and tedious task since they're going to look for random triggers. You know your body the best, try to think back and see what you can come up with.

If you have any more questions, feel free to FM me
