mini-vent
do any of you get frustrated when ur words are mis-interpretted?? :( i just got so upset with dh on the phone and now i feel silly/stupid for doing so..
backstory: we borrowed some money from my aunt a while ago and we've been slowly paying her back by the month. SO...october's almost over and we didn't send her money yet - so i call dh & say 'can i mail my aunt such & such amount' (keep in mind...this is NOT a ton of money we're sending her..just a little bit because something is better then nothing)..ANYWAYS, so he tells me he's not sure that he has to look over some things and make sure there's enough in the account etc...fine.
then just now i get a phone call from him saying that two of our friends want us to go out to dinner with them tonight.. to come into the city & it'll be a good time.
very nicely my response(in nicer words of course) was why is he so hesitant to send money to someone we OWE, but the second we're asked to go out it's fine??
he got all defensive and all annoyed/angry - made a fight out of it & was like: 'FORGET IT. i'll just tell them i'm going home because we can't go out'...i kept trying to talk & say 'u're not getting what i'm saying'
all i was trying to say was that I WOULD LOVE TO COME IN & GO OUT TO DINNER..it's not that i don't want to go.i'm not saying we can't. but if we DO, i expect to be able to send my aunt money because obviously we have extra money to do so...and if there's NOT...then we shouldn't do either.. am i wrong in feeling this way??? it's not that i feel guilty about having a good time or anything - it's just that he's telling me ooh we can't send your aunt money this month because of this this & that, but yet - we can do a night out on the town in manhattan???? i'm sorry girls..this is just a vent 'cause i got upset & needed to let it out lol. it's just stupid that he made it into a fight when all i was trying to do was show him the priority of the situation.. i know it's not even that big of a deal - but writing it out on here makes me feel better!
