Missed you all!

Hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving!

I'm still here in NY even though I was supposed to go back to GA yesterday. My brother was diagnosed with Diabetes on Wednesday and my parents were leaving for a cruise on Friday morning....they were worried sick about him because he really doesnt know how to regulate it yet and hadnt even seen a doctor yet. So, I offered to stay in NY an extra 4 days until Thursday so that I could get him to a doctor and take care of him while they're gone -- I just couldnt let them cancel their vacation....they were going to loose $3000 So, DH went back to GA yesterday and I'm still here.

I started to get anxiety again yetserday when I knew DH was leaving without me, but I was able to control it and kept my mind off it by putting up my parents' christmas decorations for them

Thats a great idea, to keep busy to keep your mind off things. Plus, its just FUN decorating for the holidays!

And you'll be back home with DH in no time. Have fun hanging out with your brother and helping him learn how to take care of himself better!!!

My thoughts and prayers go out to your brother. Thank God that is a disease that can be controlled with meds and a diet. You are so sweet making sure he takes care of himself

I'm so sorry to hear about your brother. It was so nice of you to stay back and help him out. And congrats on being able to control the anxiety! I know how hard it can be

Thank you all! Coming home has been sort of a whirlwind. I was so excited to be home and then I got really anxious on Thanksgiving night -- and DH is trying to be supportive...but he really doesnt understand it and I guess he thinks its all in my head...so this is hard for both of us. My parents are so so supportive though and have been calling from their cruise everyday to see how I'm doing.

This past weekend was great seeing all our friends and that definately lifted my spirits! I'm looking forward to getting back to Georgia to see DH on Thursday....so this change in plans is kind of a blessing because I never thought I'd say that I want to go back to GA.

Welcome back - I hope your brother is OK. Having someone else to focus on helps distract me from moments of anxiety so I hope it's doing the same for you.
