Missing Gift - Do I say someting?

Missing Gift - Do I say someting?

Ok, so we are missing an envelope from one of my co-workers...

I *think* I remember her handing me an envelope that night, but it is NOWHERE to be found...

Should I ask her about it? or just let it go? I'm worried if there was cash in it, and someone took it...

I know she would have given a gift, b/c she couldn't attend my shower, but made a big point of still giving me shower gifts at work, adn took me out to lunch and we went to her car to get htem, etc...

What do I do?????

Only because you're sure she gave the envelope, I'd mention that it's missing.

Maybe she wrote a check and can put a 'stop payment' on it

DH and I have the same problem, we are missing 4 envelopes that we know we received. We just were going to wait to see if they ask us why we didn't cash their check. We are still going to send a thank you, but we didn't want to make them feel bad or like they had to replace it, if they put cash in it.

Good Luck,

just wanted to say:

about HALF of our gifts were in CASH. So, don't expect people to wait for the checks to get cashed

we did get more checks than cash... But i'm worried... I'm trying my hardest to remember WHO gave me envelopes... i know I was standing with them (the co-workers) but I can't remmber who did/didnt... it was all so fast??

And to add to it... DH says 'maybe I dropped some when walking to the card box... it could have slipped out'

we lost one from my grandmothers friend! I was so embarrased, but my gandmother called her and explained. She was very understanding and told us to look a bit longer and let her know when we wanted to stop payment so she could issue another check. We ended up finding it tucked between a bunch of stuff the hall sent back with us.

Good Luck - and don't worry - it happens!!

We thought we were missing some cards but didn't know what to do. We ended up saying something and it started a big fight

Maybe you should wait a little while longer. Some people wait up until a year.

I didn't even care about the gift, I was just more concerned about how I wrote out the thank yous.

I would not say anything to the other co-workers. Keep it between you and the co-worker who may or may not have given a card.
