Missing Proofs???!!!

Missing Proofs???!!!

Okay I just spoke to my photo guy that i did the contract with and he said that the guy was not suppose to leave my wedding before it was over and he needs to look into it. So hopefully i wll be able to get somethign out of this craziness.

BUT heres something i don't get....i was speaking to him about my other issues and we are going to set up an appt to go over them...but I said to him welll me and DH remember taking pictures that are not part of our proofs...and he was like this sometimes happens that they are not all printed....can anyone tell me why this happens???? If they take the picture why do they decide which ones they print for you.....I heard numerous brides say something to this effect on these boards....

I don't know why it happens but it happened to me and I am STILL pissed about it, 7 years later! It is the main reason why I will NOT recommend my photographer to anyone. I am missing a lot of pictures (one being my dh with his father) and even when I requested them they wouldn't print them for me.

Why would they not print them? I don't understand how they have a right to do this? How do they decide which ones they are printing up. They gave us some pretty sh*tty ones so i doubt its ones that are not perfect....i just don't understand this...

I've heard of this before. and I too remember taking pics that are not in my proofs. A girl who also used to Duet posted once that Eric said they don't print them all. I guess if they're out of focus or something...but we get all our negatives when everything is finished, so I'm hoping I can see if there are any others then.

What my photographer told me was that if he does not print a proof it is because there is something wrong with it (the light meter didn't work, there was a shadow or the flash bounced back to camera, etc) but I did get all of my negatives, even the ones that weren't printed. I looked through them & agreed that it would have been a waste b/c most of them I could not even make out what they were.

I think it is common for photographers to pull out proofs where someones eyes are closed too.

I don't know why they wouldn't print them but we think it was because they lost them. Funny...when we wanted to buy our negatives (which weren't included in our original package but *should* have been available for purchase) they said sorry, they already tossed them. So we'll never know.

Sorry, I guess I sound a little bitter but as you can probably tell, it's a sore subject with me.
