How's Candy? How's her progress?

Re: MLAngelo!!

Its good. She is mostly sleeping through the night in the crate. She cries about now, 5am, but otherwise good.

She is getting more comfortable now so she is chewing more. But she is still pretty easy in that respect.

She peed on the pads most of yesterday. She hit my rug twice, both were later in the day, but just before bed she went on the pad again. Pooping is harder, she won't go on the pad, but paps are notoriously shy about it so like most she hides in the corner and won't look at you and doesn't want you to look at her. All my paps have been that way, Cookie still goes in the pachysandra. Were going to try moving her exercise pen more into a corner to see if that helps.

So the only thing is she still raises bloody hell when I leave the room. Whether she is locked in the room, crate or exercise pen. You can hear her from outside my house. She still gets sick sometimes too. But I let her cry and I try not to take her out while crying, though sometimes it goes on for over an hour and a half and then I can't take it anymore.

For day 4 she is doing great. She knows I am mommy thats for sure.

DH printed pics for me to bring Sun and show you, but they are all on FB.

Thanks for caring Allegra.

Re: MLAngelo!!

That's all great news!!!!! Day 4 and learning the pad already!!!! That's great!!!! How did the box over the pad work? I would think that might help with the shy pooper issue lol. It sounds like she's doing great! It's sooo hard to listen to them scream like that, especially if they get themselves sick and puke. But it sounds like you're being as strong as possible and it all comes in time!! Yay!!! Also I think when dogs are breeds tiny enough to carry around, they kind of expect to be, you know? Like SIL has the cutest little teacup poodle, but when she is home alone she gets totally forlorn and sad all day til Kelly gets home. Bc she is so used to Kelly taking her everywhere when she's not working. I can't wait to see you Sunday and discuss!!! At the last D+B gtg JennyAPH and I were talking about having a doggie gtg!! lol. Well good luck and post updates on this thread if you can! I know you're busy. Good luck!!

Re: MLAngelo!!

The boxes only function was to help her escape from her pen, she actually used her bed to climb on top of it and then tried to go over the side of the pen, so its down now.

But actually we just moved her pen into the corner. I was worried its to drafty because its by our side door, but DH put something over the door to cover it (we never use that door.) I think that might help the pooping situation a bit because I can't see her in part of that corner where I have the pads now. DH also made it bigger by not making it square and bracketing the sides to our wall and cut left over shrink wrap as a plastic bottom for it. We were taking it with us to my parents and other places we go (plus I moved it into my office when I edit) so we are going to get another one so we can leave this one up more permanently.

I put the crate in the den too, so this room is doggy central but I think it will help.

Here is the problem, when she cries DH takes her right out of her pen. He lets her run around the house more too. He lets her on the bed in the morning. We know who is going to be the one who won't let the baby cry. I keep yelling at him. Good thing he's only here 3 days a week or I would never get her trained.
