mom - with update

mom's hair started falling out yesterday, today you can begin to see her scalp.....

I feel sick....its shocking... i mean we knew this was going to happen... but I just don't want her to look sick...she isn't sick..... she has so much life in her....today her eyes were red, i could tell she is holding back tears.... i don't know what to say or do...this is hard



on a positive note.....this webiste really has gone above and beyond weddings...i have truly met some amazing people....

I need to thank Barbie for helping us out with getting my mom a wig!!! She has been planning an event for cancer and thought of us, and I couldn't be more grateful!!! As you can tell it has came at a perfect time..... Thank you so much Barbara!!! I appreciate it so much!!

Mom came home with a catalog with scarves, hats and wigs that day, and she ordered a bunch of hats... she is looking forward to getting them.. she was telling me all the different colors she got...

I just didn't expect her hair to come out so fast, I thought it would be more gradual....I am not looking forward to seeing her bald..I just pray everything comes in super fast....inclding her new hair...

I have an uncle who is going through this & not only am I watching the hair loss but the weight loss as well - he recently had to be hospitalized b/c he lost so much weight that his pacemaker wires were actually poking through his skin & caused a bad infection - they had to treat the infection 1st & then move the pacemaker over to the other side of his body...so I can totally empathize with your situation...it is scary & weird although my uncle's prognosis is 'supposed' to be good.

I will keep your mom in my prayers!

I've been watching videos of children with cancer all week bc my students are raising money by doing a kick-a-thon for St. Jude's.

The patients are so strong to go through all this therapy and treatment----just stay strong for your mom AND how sweet of Barbie for helping your mom during this time.

Dana, I have been praying so hard for you and your mom. You're so strong - I would be a mess if I were in your position. It's funny, you spend your teenage years thinking your mom will never understand you and you're so radically different adn then when you really grow up, your mom is your best friend. Hugs for both of you and a big WOW and YAY for Barbie helping out!

First off, Barbie is amazing. How incredibly thoughtful of her!

Secondly, Dana I know it's difficult but you are being such a HUGE source of strength for your mom by remaining strong. It is not a pleasant process to go through cancer treatment and can get quite ugly, but keep your eyes on the prize and the end result. This is what will make your mom better!

Stay strong and come on here when you need the support. You guys are constantly in my thoughts.

today we went to tri county and got a hat ( which looks so friggin cute on her- I want one!!!) and we got some big earrings to jazz her up.... she was happier.... as long as we don't take off the hat cause then its like.... !!!!

so today is slightly better....

I am so sorry you and your mom are going through this. I can't even imagine what you feel like. I wish I had some great advice to offer but all I can offer are prayers and hugs.

I'm so sorry about this..I want to give you all my love and support because I don't know what I would do in your place. You have all the prayers that I can send
