MONDAY 10/26 - NWQOTD!

What percentage of housework/cleaning would you say you do & what percentage would you say DH does?

I do 98% - DH only cleans if he's home by himself...lol...

Although to give hive credit - DH does do all the home projects around the house...something I wouldnt even be able to do if I tried...

I do 98% of the cleaning 98% of the time. I work 2 jobs so on the days i work both jobs i usually leave the dishes for DH, who swears he does them all the time!

But I really dont mind doing that stuff cuz i like feeling like a housewife..but like i said i work 2 jobs and get lazy sometimes!

just hate when he says something like 'oh i do the dishes everynight!' cuz im always like 'how many times have you cleaned the toilet?!' lol gets him everytime!

I probably do 75% in our apt but we are moving into our house inthe next few months and we have a lot of work to do....new kitchen, bath, floors and paint throughout. THat work will be more 50/50.....and maybe even more me doing it cause I will be home during the week so I'll tackle more projects.

I would say 50/50. He is home during the day on the weekdays and he cleans alot (without me havin to ask.. its great!) and I usually clean alot on the weekends.

I'd have to say he does about 40% (although he'd say 50%). He does the dishes (loads the dishwasher), because our agreement is whoever doesn't cook does the dishes and I always cook. When we do deep cleaning every 2 weeks he cleans the bathroom. I have never had to clean it in our 3 years of living together. He also takes out the garbage (with many reminders).

DH works out of town so I do most of the cleaning. But he jumps in and helps when need be, like while I have been sick, he has been cleaning the bathroom. He would do the laundry but I won't let him. I like my whites white.

He does the yard work, fixes things around the house and is the main bread winner so I don't mind cleaning.

Before when I was working, it was 50/50.

Now that I am not working, it's like 75% me and 25% him.

hmmm I think it really changes on our work schedules but I'm going to have to say 60% him and 40% me. .. I travel ALLLLLL the time for work so I think he just tends to do more. . plus I am a little domestically challenged on the cleaning front. . I can cook, bake, decorate etc but somehow can't fold a shirt or correctly mop a floor we are both trying to get better at cleaning but when we are working 12 hour days it's hard to be inspired

I do about 90% of the cleaning… but DH is in charge of about 99% of the cooking.

I do about 45% and the laundry b/c its right downstairs.

He does 55% and does ALL of the cooking.

we fought SOOOOOO much over this when we moved in a few months before the wedding.

Seriously, we were going to kill each other because I refused to do everything since I work the longer schedule. The solution was to hire a housekeeper to come in once per week for laundry, ironing and deep cleaning.

Our only chores left:
walking the dog: DH
making the bed: DH
cooking: me
grocery shopping: me

It depends on our schedules but on average I would say 40% Dh and 60% me but lately DH has been doing a lot more then normal b/c I have not been feeling well.

my DH does the majority! he loves to clean, he has severe OCD, i keep the bathrooms clean and do the laundry. everything else he does.

I'd say DH does 70% and I do 30%, but I do 100% of the cooking and keeping track of the finances. So I think that evens out.

I do a lot of cleaning and 95% of the cooking which I like, but DH does the yard work and a lot of remodeling work (we're trying to fix up the house) so I think it evens out. I don't like tools, only cooking utensils
