Don't be fooled by the spring-like temperatures today, another weathermaker is expected to bring several inches of snow to New York, according to the National Weather Service.
Though temperatures will reach the low 50s today, a cold front is headed to the metropolis late tonight. The system is forecast to bring a mixture of snow and rain that will turn to all snow late morning. Three to five inches are expected by the time it tapers off in the evening.
Temperatures will also fall from an early high in the mid-30s into the lower 30s with northwest winds of 10-15 mph.
So far this winter season, 45.3 inches of snow have fallen in New York City, according to the National Weather Service and Brookhaven National Laboratory.
March's weather roller coaster will take another turn with warmer weather this weekend. Temperatures will reach the 40s on Friday and the mid- to upper 50s this weekend.
