I've had to do that too....there's no way out. I was there and a woman who lived out in Peconic was also serving!
However.....just because the questionnaire is from Brooklyn, you might get picked to serve in Central Islip. That's also happened to me (and vice versa).
Wait and see what the summons says when it comes....I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Did they mail it to your right address? If not, you can safely throw it out. If it was mailed to your correct address don't throw it out - the feds get nasty when it comes to jury duty (much nastier than the county).

Yeah my address is correct but it has my maiden name on it...................I changed my address when I changed my name so figure that one out

ugh! that *****...but definitely don't throw it away. my brother did once and well, got all sorts of very scary looking letters and almost got fined etc. maybe you won't have to go all the way there! that just doesn't make any sense. i HATE jury duty!! maybe it's just a questionnaire and it won't mean you're placed out in brooklyn. i also live in guam and i'd be PO'd!! i would think you'd get placed in your home jurisdiction.

really?? that's awesome. well, to be fair, my brother also threw away all the jury summons notices too...and actually got a certified letter he had to sign for... ...so i guess the questionnaires aren't as serious as throwing away multiple jury summonses... i just went for mine like two months ago, but it was in riverhead... ******, BUT was over in a day. but i don't care, i frikkin' hate it... 'civic duty' or not! i'm such a bad citizen!

My mom is on call for federal for the next two weeks. She is NOT happy especially since this is her second time being called for federal and it is going to cost her the lousy 40 bucks they pay her just to get there. Hopefully you won't have to go!!

Well the good thing is if you get questioned for a jury and say you dont care if its your civic duty you probably wont be picked for a jury.
