Motovation for loosing weight.....
MIL is a persoanl trainer and sends out these emails. well she just sent one for the new year and thought it was really good, so i wanted to share it with you girls, since most of us are trying to loose that wedding and HM weight! hope it helps you!Wishing everyone a very Happy and Healthy New Year!
Let's stay committed to getting healthier one day at a time!
This is a good time to reflect and evaluate your progress! Not a time to get down on yourself, but to really consider the little changes you've made to try to get healthier throughout the year! And to strive to do a little more in the next 12 months!
Are you drinking more water? Are you eating more vegetables? Are you getting out there and walking more than you were last year? These are the little things that are going to make you a healthier person!
Instead of making resolutions to stop doing something this year, make resolutions to begin new habits, healthy habits! Set small goals for yourself to begin with. Make long time goals more of 'resolution' to continue with your new healthier habits!
One year my short time goal was to walk 7 days in a row taking a day off on every 8th day!!! I knew life would get in the way sometimes so I set a long term goal (my 'resolution') to stick to it as close as possible! Of course I had to make changes - I had just had my 7th child!!! So 7 days in a row wasn't always 7, but I was always striving for those 7 days in a row! It worked because my big picture wasn't as strict as my short term goal! It gave me room to stray from my original goal, but I couldn't go that far because my 'resolution' was to try to follow it as closely as I could!!!
If you set yourself up for success you will succeed! It depends on what your definition of success is...
I never said I was going to lose 100lbs!!! My first thought was; I can't gain anymore weight!!! I had wanted to lose just 10lbs that very 1st month but by the end of that month I had dropped 20lbs! All because I didn't want to GAIN anymore!!! I realized that having a long term 'resolution' of not wanting to gain weight helped me achieve my short term 'goal' of losing 10lbs.
What is your definition of 'success'? Be honest with yourself. Set that short term goal and be realistic. Then think into the future...picture yourself where you are right now and imagine it's next year! 2012 - What do you want to congratulate yourself about??? The time to start is NOW!
Keep it simple, don't bite off more than you can chew!
How about a goal of losing just 5lbs and making a resolution to yourself to keep it off for a whole month before you lose another 5lbs???
Make a resolution to set yourself up for Success! This is Your Year!!!
