Movers

Does anyone have a recommendtion for a mover? Also I am trying to budget and have no idea what they cost. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I just met with Astro Moving (part of Allied) last weekend. They seemed reasonable, but I haven't moved yet and dont know anyone else who has used them.

We used Wolfe Relocation Services (twice - once to get me from Brooklyn to West Babylon, and once to get us both from W. Babylon to Massapequa). We thought they were reasonably priced, nothing broken, friendly. If you are interested their # was 631.491.3600 - if it hasn't changed. We used them last in November of 2000.

My family and I have used this guy a number of times. I highly recommend him. He owns his own business and does a great job. Eddie 516-682-8378
His prices are very fair and he has never broken anything, not even a glass.

When we moved from Boston we got quotes from Mayflower and Allied and they were within a few dollars of each other.

For interstate moves, the pricing is somewhat regulated. I'm not sure if it's different within the state.

I think on Realtor.com there is a link or tab for moving, and there was a calculator to get a ballpark cost - although I can't say how accurate it will be for NYC/LI.
