Murder in Sound Beach

I can't believe it! I always thought that sound beach was a small nice town! Just goes to show you arent safe anywere!!!

Im not really sure. It was a man and his wife found him shot in the back yard.

Suffolk homicide detectives said a Sound Beach man they found in his backyard with a gunshot wound to his head Sunday night was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police released few details about the case Monday night, but they identified the victim as George Markov, 41, of Whitestone Road.

Seventh Precinct officers arrived on the scene shortly after 10 p.m. to investigate a report of a man who was injured, and found Markov with a gunshot wound to his head.

He was taken to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson, where he was pronounced dead.

WOW.....that is so sad. So glad it wasnt my ex's sister. I know she recently went through a very bad divorce & has 2 children & the husband was always a big DB & the last time I spoke with the sister through email in Oct (I wanted to mail her some old pics I came across of the kids when they were babies when I babysat) she said she had to move a few times b/c of the ex-Dh - so when I saw the post I got really freaked....

so sad nonetheless
